At Home Pet Euthanasia: A Guide To How It Works

Our goal is to ensure a peaceful and compassionate experience for you and your pet during their final moments. To create a calm atmosphere, your veterinarian will arrive in regular clothes, making your pet feel more at ease. Each appointment is tailored to your needs, starting with a visual assessment of your pet without disturbing their resting place. While you sign consent forms and discuss body-care preferences, your veterinarian will gather some information from you about your pet. They will then approach your pet, stroking and greeting them, while also gathering additional information. If you prefer not to be present for any part of the appointment, please inform your vet.

Your veterinarian will spend 15 to 60 minutes in your home, depending on your preferences and your pet's needs. The actual procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes, allowing you time to be with your pet before and after if desired. If you opt for cremation, your veterinarian will handle your pet with gentleness and respect. Alternatively, if you choose to lay your pet to rest personally, your vet will quietly leave after confirming the passing and addressing any questions. Please consult local regulations and burial practices before deciding to handle your pet's aftercare yourself.

We are here to answer your questions every day at 833-CodaPet (833-263-2738). Our network of compassionate veterinarians have appointments available throughout the week and weekend. For specific availability, please begin a booking to view different options.

Dr. Laurie Noe and her colleague were extremely compassionate, knowledgeable and kind professionals. The entire family was truly impressed with Dr. Noe's bed side manner. She came out the same day I needed her services (weekend). She and her colleague had tremendous compassion for the process and educated themselves on our situation prior to arrival. Dr. Noe listened and gave advice accordingly. She made me feel better about my extremely difficult decision. I highly recommend Codapet and Dr. Laurie Noe during a difficult time like this. I also received a card in the mail afterwards. 5 Stars!
