The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr Sarah Clem was just awesome. Best decision to use this service at a very emotional and dreaded time. She helped make a final moment memorable and serene.
We're so grateful for the experience we had with Dr. Thomas when we had to say goodbye to our senior cat, Maica. It was incredibly painful to see Maica suffering from rapidly increased symptoms of her advanced kidney disease, and we weren't expecting to have to say goodbye to her at the time we did. Dr. Thomas was deeply empathetic and kind with both us and Maica, and during our appointment she gave us plenty of information and time to process both the procedure and Maica's passing. It means the world that we could spend Maica's final moments with her, making sure she felt safe and loved until the end. I would recommend Dr. Thomas to anyone who unfortunately has to make this difficult decision, and even though we miss Maica deeply, it helps to know she was shepherded on with such care.
Our cat George made it clear that it was time to exit this world. He was 21, and had graced us with his presence for 19 years. We didn’t want his last moments to involve a scary car ride, & the sounds and smells of a veterinary clinic, however wonderful our vet staff is. We decided to have an in home end of life. We were referred to Codapet by a vet that was unable to help same day. The vet we ultimately chose was Dr. Delia Gregory-Macdonald. She was in contact with us, letting us know when she would arrive. She greeted us by saying she was honored that she was chosen to help us through this difficult decision. She took great care in explaining everything we might expect or experience and was so respectful and compassionate throughout the whole experience. Our boy left this world in a gentle, loving way, leaving us with the knowledge that we did the right thing. On the money side of things, (which wasn’t really an issue with us) the cost was no greater than if we had taken our boy to the vet. I have experienced numerous end of life experiences with our fur babies, and this is clearly the best way to go when faced with a terminally ill pet.
Dr Orth is simply an incredible human. We suddenly had the need to euthanize our senior cat and wanted to find the least jarring situation for our Bea. Dr Orth was prompt, professional, and extremely compassionate. The image of her tenderly wrapping Bea in her favorite blanket when all was over and placing her in a beautiful handwoven basket to take her away was a comforting image that we will keep with us. Rest well dear Bea and thank you Doctor for your care.
Dr. Gary was recommended by a friend, and I’m so glad they did. It was extremely easy to book an appointment, and he made an incredibly difficult moment as painless for me and my husky as possible. He’s very professional, and made it so that I didn’t have to worry about any of the little details and could just focus on my last moments with my fur baby. So grateful he was able to help.
This was one of the most painful decisions I’ve had to make regarding my sweet companion pup. I am grateful to have found the CodaPet services that offered my beloved pet and I a peaceful and painless way for him to make that sad transition from this life. Dr. Houck was incredibly, sensitive, kind, and lovingly helped my sweet bully boy go from being in extreme pain, to a restful sleep. Thank you Dr. Houck for your gentle words and support throughout the entire process. More importantly for helping me to give Mr. Nemo his last greatest gift, no more suffering, no more fear, no more anxiety, just peace. Rest easy sweet boy💜🐾
