Dr. Pruett earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with honors, graduating cum laude from the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in August 2014. In May 2017, she achieved her lifelong dream by obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Pruett's passion for veterinary medicine has been a constant in her life since her earliest memories. Growing up, she was surrounded by animals, and her dream of becoming a veterinarian was unwavering. Over the years, her aspirations took various forms, from imagining herself as an animal trainer or ranch owner, but the common thread was always the desire to care for animals. One of Dr. Pruett's driving passions within the field of veterinary medicine is In-Home Euthanasia (IHE). Her experiences with organizations like Aggieland Pets with a Purpose (APWAP) have reinforced her dedication to the human-animal bond and the profound impact animals have on human well-being. She aspires to provide in-home euthanasia services as a compassionate way to honor the strong connections people share with their pets during one of life's most challenging transitions. In addition to her veterinary work, Dr. Pruett is deeply involved in breeding and training Border Collies. She is an AKC Breeder of Merit in Border Collies, and her commitment to the breed is evident in her meticulous selection of parent dogs and her dedication to maintaining the breed's exceptional qualities. Dr. Pruett also finds great joy in training Border Collies, harnessing their remarkable herding instincts and intelligence to participate in various activities, including Agility, Scentwork, and Herding competitions.
