Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

During my youth, I operated a children’s petting zoo and traveled to schools, birthday parties, and library functions educating children on animal care. My animals included everything from iguanas and ducklings to lambs and frogs, and it was during these formative pet-owning years that I decided to become a veterinarian. I have always had a soft spot for the older pets I've treated in practice and saw a need for these beloved pets to pass peacefully at home rather than in a clinic setting. To that end, I started Peaceful Passing in 2018 to help families assist their terminally ill, injured, or suffering pets as they transitioned from life in the Fresno and Clovis areas. I've found that pets are so much more relaxed and peaceful when they pass at home, and it is truly a gift owners give their furry friends.

Dr. Whala was extremely kind and gentle. She helped all of us with the loss of Loba who was a shelter dog at Animal Compassion Team, a non profit rescue in Fresno California. Loba was a favorite at our shelter 2 years at the shelter and she had no applications for adoption. The volunteers and staff wanted her to end her life where she felt at home. Dr. Whala treated Loba like an important and pedigreed dog. Thank you Dr Whala❤️

Dr. Whala is a very kind and compassionate person. She made what was a very difficult situation, very easy for everyone, and more importantly, our dog. She explained each step and was so loving with our dog. I would highly recommend her and this service to anyone that needs it for their pet. I will never take any of my pets to the veterinary office to euthanize them again. It’s such an emotional thing and it was so comforting to go through this at home. She is a wonderful person, what a gift she is. We appreciate having this service very much.
