Dr. Jennifer Tolbert is a Columbus native who has always called the community home. After graduating from Northside High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Columbus State University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. She briefly practiced in the Atlanta area but ultimately returned to Columbus, where most of her family still lives. As the youngest of five sisters — and a proud UGA alum alongside her husband — she is deeply rooted in both her family and community. Her passion for in-home euthanasia began during her first year of vet school, when she faced the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to her 14-year-old black lab, Buddy. Navigating that experience made her realize how meaningful it would have been for Buddy to pass peacefully at home, away from the stress of the clinic. That moment ignited her calling to provide families with a gentler, more personal way to honor their pets’ final moments — surrounded by love, in the comfort of home. Dr. Tolbert now shares her life with Kirby, a spirited 1-year-old black lab mix who keeps her on her toes and reminds her daily of the joy dogs bring to our lives. She is deeply committed to ensuring pets and families experience compassionate, supportive, and dignified end-of-life care.
