With over three decades of experience, Dr. Alex Doss is dedicated to providing compassionate care for pets in the comfort of their own homes. Graduating from the University of California, Davis with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1992, Dr. Doss began his career by obtaining his license in California the following year. He has since worked in various small animal care practices across San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles, specializing in emergency and critical care. Dr. Doss's commitment to excellence has earned him prestigious awards, including the esteemed "Practice of Excellence" award from Veterinary Economics. Throughout his career, Dr. Doss has extended his passion for animal welfare beyond traditional practice. He has collaborated with animal rescue groups, humane societies, and shelters, broadening his expertise and enriching his understanding of the veterinary profession. Most of his work has been in the San Diego area, a place he holds dear to his heart. In recent years, Dr. Doss has focused his practice on geriatric medicine, becoming well-versed in addressing the unique challenges of aging animals and providing support during end-of-life decisions. When Dr. Doss isn't caring for pets, he enjoys spending time with his two grown children and his beloved resident pets. Away from work, he finds solace in activities like reading, hiking, boating, and seeking new adventures. Dr. Doss's journey as a veterinarian traces back to his childhood, where his love for animals inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
