FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Daniela Lutri with Codapet did an excellent job helping my mother through the last moments of our pet’s life. Would recommend. Booking experience was fast and easy.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Yang and this at-home euthanasia service overall. Having to say goodbye to our sweet boy was beyond painful and I had already had a traumatic experience at a traditional vet visit with a pup years ago. I found Codavet and Dr. Yang and from the first tearful phone call, with a lovely woman named Dana, to the return of the memorial items, their service was top tier. Losing our boy was so incredibly painful, but Dr. Yang was so compassionate and him being able to cross over at home, surrounded by his humans and his little sister, was the greatest gift we could give him… and ourselves. Beyond grateful 💜🐾

I do not wish to relive this experience, as saying goodbye to a beloved family member is never easy. That said, Dr. Burke was exceptional. He was professional, calm, compassionate, and incredibly gentle with our beloved dog throughout the entire process. What stood out most was his ability to read the room and respond to the emotions of everyone present. He created a peaceful, comforting environment during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. If you are considering this type of service and feeling uncertain, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Burke. He cared not only for our pet with dignity and kindness, but also for our family when we needed it most.

Dr. Orth was incredibly compassionate, clear about the process, and did so well at handling my very hectic and very distressed household. The service she provided was absolutely a 5 star experience, and she made the best out of a horrible situation by being so comforting. When I received my pets ashes back, I was very touched by all the keepsakes and especially by the letter and river rock. If you are considering at home euthanasia, I highly recommend Dr. Orth.

I would love to give more stars. Dr. Miranda Collins was so kind and compassionate at one of the worst times of my life. My heart is so broken, nothing can make it better right now. But dealing with Dr. Collins as well as the person that walked me through the process on the phone was nothing less than stellar. I would highly recommend them if you ever find yourself in this terrible position.

Dr. Wolfingbarger treated a very sad experience, in home pet euthanasia, with such care and compassion for both me and my Maddie. While it was an incredibly painful decision to make, I did not want my sweet dog to suffer, and Dr. Wolf showed incredible empathy and professionalism.
