Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Santa Ana, CA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I am so HAPPY I went with Coda. It made an extremely difficult decision to face the best possible way to do it. I known I will have to face this decision again and without hesitation will call CodaPet. They were recommended to me and so glad they did. Thank you again an again CodaPet.
Dr Lisa Littlejohn was fantastic. She explained every step of the process. She was very comforting to my German Shepherd and My wife and I. She showed much compassion and helped us feel at ease. I would highly recommend Dr Lisa Littlejohn for at home Euthanasia. Rest In Peace my Sophia girl.
It was a peaceful, non stressful event for both our beloved Reilly and ourselves. Thanks to CodaPet for providing a wonderful and caring vet to help him onto a better place.
We’ve both been through this many times. Each of our pups and one cat have all had their own personalities and we’ve loved them like they were our kids. (Yes, we’re the DINK couple that, when new parents would tell cute stories about their progeny, we’d respond by showing some of the thousand pics of Bingo on our phones. But with pups, a hundred thousand hours of happiness will always end in a few, tremendously sad hours. I know the story’s end from “Chapter 1; The Adoption”. That’s why I need to say this; there are super special people in this world who perform the task. In the past, we’ve gone to the vet’s office which was fine in its way but then we learned of veterinarians who come into your home. We’ve done this twice now and despite how much we like and respect our vets the kindness, compassion, sympathy and professionalism of the traveling vets has been overwhelming. They’ve laughed and cried with us. They’ve made paw prints. They listened and assured us we were making the right decision. So a huge THANKS to Dr. Jessica Mumm with Coda Pet who guided Waffles to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Waffles, say hi to Meka. I know you two are goofing off and having an exciting and pain-free reunion. Meka, introduce Waffles to Bob and Finnigan and Bingo. Have fun. Eat tasty stuff and bark at squirrels. We’ll see you all when it’s our time.
Dr. Alicia made our in home pet euthanasia experience beautiful. We didn’t want to say goodbye to our beloved pup, Calvin, but it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Alicia contacted us in advance, communicated exactly what would happen, and asked our preferences for what we wanted. She arrived on time and spent almost two hours with us, assuring Calvin was comfortable and we were supported. She asked us about Calvin, and grieved with us. She treated him, and us, with care and respect. She followed up a few times after his passing to check on our well being. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ve already given her name and number to two friends with aging pups.
We made the hard decision to let our senior dog Frankie go and we wanted to do it at home. Dr. Hundley was so kind and patient as we went through the process of assisting our dogs passing and we appreciate them dearly for offering this service. It was a very difficult time for us but Dr. Hundley helped make Frankie's passing as peaceful as possible.
