Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Santa Ana, CA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Dawn was just so amazing. Kind, compassionate, very professional. She helped our cat, Lucy with a quiet, caring passage to a pain free peace. Although this was a very hard decision to make we are so glad we choose Dr. Dawn and Coda Pet.
Dr. Laura DuBose was a great comfort during one of the worst times of our life. Losing our 10 year old black lab Koda was the hardest thing my family and I had ever been through. Dr. Laura was very kind and walked my family and I through the in home euthanasia process. Our baby girl Koda passed peacefully in her bed being held by both of our daughters. She felt no pain at all and it was calm and serene. Dr. Laura did not rush us through any of her visit and allowed us to go at the pace we felt comfortable with. She even stayed and sat with our two daughters after Koda had passed while they continued to say their goodbyes. It was the best case scenario for a very heartbreaking time. I will say that from now on I won’t hesitate to use Dr. Laura in the future should any of my other pets need her assistance. Thank you so much Dr. Laura for the kindness and compassion you showed to Koda and our family. You helped our baby girl across the Rainbow Bridge and for that we are forever grateful.
There's a special place in heaven for Dr. Michelli. ❤️ She helped us through one of the absolute worst days of our lives. She helped our best baby girl puppy (age12) cross the rainbow bridge in her worst condition. Doctor M. cried with us and loved on our sweet girl like she was part of our family. I can't give more accolades to this company. She made this terrible day bearable and showed our puppy nothing but respect and dignity through her last moments.
We made the best decision for our beloved dog Rudy yesterday 3-12-26 he was 12.5 years, a beautiful Dutch Shepherd. It was made on that day because we could see his decline seemed drastic just within 24 hours. We wanted it to be in our home and I saw Dr. Rebecca Walton and her assistant had been spoken of so highly. I called and she in fact had an open time. Believe me it was terribly heart wrenching, but my husband and I had agreed that our boy came first. When they arrived caring and kindness came in the door with them. Rudy was not easily going to take the initial injections for calming, he hated the needle, but they remained calm just waiting no matter how long it took for the first part. We stayed right by him the entire time. He did not suffer it seemed like in just moments he was with us and then gone. This was the last gift to our wonderful boy. No Suffering. We will be forever grateful for their compassion and kindness. Gail and Bill Landers for "The" Rudy
Although it was a very sad situation, we felt so much peace, being able to put our beloved Dotty to rest at home. She had severe anexiety and always had to be medicated to go to the vet. This service was a blessing.
Dr. Lis is very caring and thoughtful. She goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable with the process and helps ease your worries.
