Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Orange, CA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

My beloved little companion was nearing the end of his days, and Dr. Laura Schmalz came with extraordinary compassion, care, and gentleness during one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. The in-home euthanasia allowed my dog to pass peacefully in the comfort of his familiar surroundings, wrapped in love. Dr. Schmalz answered every question with thoughtfulness and clarity, and her calm presence brought steadiness to a very tender time. I am deeply grateful for the dignity and peace she helped provide. It made all the difference.
In home pet euthanasia - my senior, beloved collie recently declined rapidly, and his mobility became challenging. He was experiencing pain and on multiple pain medications. I struggled with what was best for him and for his quality of life. I knew it was time, and I didn't want to have to take him into the vet's office for his final moments. I contacted Dr. Derecka Alexander at Codapet, and she kindly was able to come to my house on short notice for in home euthanasia. My collie boy was surrounded by family and Dr. Alexander was both patient and caring, allowing us to spend some final moments with him. Dr. Alexander provided us with the most peaceful option for my sweet boy.
It was the hardest thing in my life to let go of our beloved dog due to terminal illness. I was never ready until I realized that he is trying to say goodbye and he is ready to go. I miss him every second since then but also come to the realization that it was such a peaceful and beautiful moment between us. This is all possible thanks to Dr. Jill Thomason, who kindly guided us through the process with so much compassion and thoughtfulness. I will be forever grateful for the support and that my dog was able to leave gracefully. Thank you!
It’s hard enough to say goodbye to a piece of your heart. A family member, who no matter what was excited to see you. This process of in-home pet euthanasia was an absolute godsend. This is by far the most peaceful and “easy” process. Dr. Michelli was so kind and soothing as she walked us through the process. We miss our Bud tremendously and can’t thank Dr. Michelli enough.
Thank you Dr. Lis! I didn’t expect to loose my dog Monte so soon, but there was so much comfort in knowing that when it was time to put him to sleep; he was at home, in bed, wearing his comfy pjs. The process wasn’t long for him, and Dr. Lis was very kind in the words she used to help me get through such a painful time. ❤️
Dr. Christina was so warm, caring and sweet during the difficult time of putting our 19 year old cat down. She explained everything step by step so me and my kids knew exactly what to expect. She even provided a sweet grief coloring book to my kids. She was so gentle and thoughtful in handling my cat before, during, and after the appointment. I highly recommend her if you need to say goodbye to your sweet fur baby, as she made the heartbreaking experience as easy and peaceful as possible.
