FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

The Coda vet service is very supportive and helpful during a difficult time. Our vet made sure that our dog was comfortable during the process and it felt like she was part of our family. It is so much less stressful for your pet to be at home when they transition and we would highly recommend Coda.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr Catherine Whitman, this is a hard thing to do and she made Dixie comfortable and me as well. Made sure I had time to grieve and showed a lot of compassion for my girl . This is one tough decision to make but it was the right one for us. Thank you.

Dr. Lara Allison was wonderful! This was our first in home euthanasia. She was extremely warm and caring with our 8 year old Great Dane, Piper. And the whole family as well. Dr. Allison thoroughly explained the process to the whole family (teens included). She went at our pace and made the whole experience peaceful for Piper as well as the family. I cannot say enough kind words. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. She helped with transportation to the funeral home as well as memorial items. We absolutely love Dr. Allison!!

It's my belief that your pet should not go out in an unfamiliar place surrounded by unfamiliar people. Using a qualified in-home pet technician is the best option. Dr. Crawford made an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking moment so much easier for me and my dog. When I think back on that day I finally had to let go of my pet, he comes to mind as someone who actually cared about my situation and did everything to make the process as smooth as possible. I'd highly recommend using Dr. Crawford.

From the moment she arrived, Dr. Stadler was kind, calm, and deeply respectful of both Pumpkin and our family. She took the time to clearly explain each step of the process, which brought a sense of peace and reassurance during an otherwise overwhelming moment. What mattered most to me was that Pumpkin never felt panicked or distressed, and Dr. Stadler ensured that happened. The entire experience was handled with such gentleness and clarity. Everything felt straightforward, unhurried, and dignified—exactly what you hope for in a situation like this. I will always be thankful for the comfort she provided, not just to Pumpkin, but to all of us.

This message is for Dr Rizzo, please stop sending me messages....every time I receive one I have to relive this terrible terrible experience over and over again. Is this what you want???? I do appreciate everything you did. However, loosing my Sayde was one of the worse days of my life and you constantly sending messages makes a terrible experience even worse. Sayde was NOT a dog...she was my best friend... I'll never get over loosing her. Please leave me alone so I can grieve in peace. Thank you .
