FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Gibson couldn’t have been any better. It was our first time with an in home pet euthanasia and as awful as it was to go through, Dr. Gibson couldn’t have been more understanding, personable, kind hearted or thoughtful. She walked us through every step and allowed us the time we needed to grieve and be upset. She was completely understanding. As awful as it is to put your fur baby down, I couldn’t have imagined a more peaceful and fulfilling process. If I unfortunately ever have to experience it again, which I will, I will be calling Dr. Gibson.

I was faced with the most difficult decision a few weeks ago when my beloved 15 year old Himalayan kitty Toby began having seizures. I tried medicines but they failed. He had been so healthy for his entire life. He only went to the Vets office for his vaccinations . He HATED going . It always made him so scared. When it became clear to me that the right decision for my baby boy was to let him go, I could not face the idea of that experience being at the one place that would traumatize him. There was no way that I could live with his last experience on this earth be one that caused him to be filled with fear. I somehow remembered a friend of mine saying years ago that her pup was put to sleep at her house. I googled “at home pet Euthenasia” and came across this service. I can’t express in words how deeply grateful I am for this option to provide him a peaceful transition in the place where he felt safe and loved . Dr Kim was incredibly compassionate throughout the entire process. This included check ins with me on the status of my boy several times prior to my appt date to be sure that I was comfortable with the decision , the day of care was amazing, and a text checking on me the day after. If you want the most peaceful way to say farewell to your sweet fur baby then this is the service that you want to use!!

This was our first time using at home euthanasia. I would highly recommend if you are able to do this please do. The doctor was one of the most compassionate doctors that I have ever met. The compassion she had towards us as a family , and our beloved pet of 20 years was absolutely amazing. She took her time with our daughter who grew up with our dog since she was a little girl. The true definition of a soul dog. I thank her from the bottom of our hearts. The appointment process online was easy to follow. I would highly recommend that if you need to make this decision please use this company.

12/26/25 We were told Our family dog Wyatt (13yrs.) has Osteosarcoma, which I highly suspected cancer anyways because the poor boy was riddled with bumps. I was not ready when they told me it was a very aggressive cancer and had already eaten through his front leg bone, hence the reason he couldn't use it. unfortunately, he declined fast. We had to make a very hard decision. I recommend taking the survey on Codapet's website if you have any reserves on doing Euthanasia. It brought forth the answers of the questions I asked myself over & over, ya know, if this is truly the only way. I mustered up the strength to call. From the first conversation all the way to Wyatt's departure, Dr. Alexandra Loughmiller was very professional with what all she had to do. She explained everything in the beginning of the visit, answered any, and all questions. She did what she had to do at one end and we all were able to gather around him giving all the attention and love we could and just focused on our furbaby in his last moments. He was able to be face to face with his humans, in the comfort of his bed, in his home. I wish every owner would choose this option for their furbabies when it's time. Dr. Alexandra Loughmiller is very caring, polite, informative, and respectful. After he had passed, she even stepped outside to give us all the private time we needed with our Wyatt boy. Highly recommended Codapet to be at your service in the most depressing, and vulnerable time of your life. If you are blessed to be appointed Dr. Alexandra Loughmiller, you will feel so grateful to have had her by your side in those final moments with your furbaby. Thank You Codapet and Thank You even more, Dr. Alexandra Loughmiller❤️
