FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I was beyond impressed with Dr. Lori and the experience. From the ease of booking to the communication before hand to the space and time we were given day of to the handwritten sympathy card after...I wouldn't use any other service to say goodbye to a pet. We are incredibly grateful.

Dr. Bean and his assistant helped make Cheveyo's transition as gentle as humanly possible. Thank you so much. I will highly recommend you and CodaPet to anyone who's facing one of life's toughest moments. Our furry fella was enjoying little snacks that the doc had brought, surrounded by people who loved him, while he calmly drifted away. I can't lie, we were such a mess at the time, it's largely a blurr. However looking back with a clearer head, I can say it couldn't have been a more natural and calm setting to see him off. We were outside in the shade, exactly where Cheveyo loved to lie, listening to the birds, feeling the warm breeze on our faces. He was comfortable and stress-free knowing exactly where he was. He was home. In this familiar setting we bid our companion of the past 17 years farewell. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Previously having accompanied our kitty Knuckles to a vet's office to say goodbye(the only available option then), this experience felt so much more respectful and tranquil. This will alway be a personally gut-wrenching decision for anybody who loves their pet to have to make. I read somewhere that sometimes death is a gift. It doesn't feel that way at the the time, but I like to think this was the case. What kinder love can you give your sweet pet at the end than by lifting their suffering, accepting the heavy weight of it on ourselves to bear when they're gone? Cheveyo, you gave us more enjoyment and love than you'll ever know buddy. I hope you felt our love in return. We'll never ever forget you. Be free Cheveyo.

I don’t know where to start… Dr. Courtney White made the process of putting down our family dog, Louise, of 16 years so much more easier than we could have ever imagined. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to lay her to rest surrounded by family. With our pets, kisses, hugs, words of affirmation, and with a little bit of tears soaked into her fur, our precious family dog of nearly two decades was laid to rest. Thank you to Dr. White for giving us (the humans in the room) clarity and walking us through the process, and thank you for being such a kind presence that our otherwise not-so-keen-of-strangers dog was so relaxed around you to the point where she ate out of your hand. We will miss Louise forever and we will never find a dog like her. CodaPet and Dr. White allowed us to say our final goodbyes in an honoring and loving way, she gave us time to grieve, allowed us space to ugly cry, respected our wishes, and understood our emotions, questions, and hesitations

Dr. Laura DuBose was a great comfort during one of the worst times of our life. Losing our 10 year old black lab Koda was the hardest thing my family and I had ever been through. Dr. Laura was very kind and walked my family and I through the in home euthanasia process. Our baby girl Koda passed peacefully in her bed being held by both of our daughters. She felt no pain at all and it was calm and serene. Dr. Laura did not rush us through any of her visit and allowed us to go at the pace we felt comfortable with. She even stayed and sat with our two daughters after Koda had passed while they continued to say their goodbyes. It was the best case scenario for a very heartbreaking time. I will say that from now on I won’t hesitate to use Dr. Laura in the future should any of my other pets need her assistance. Thank you so much Dr. Laura for the kindness and compassion you showed to Koda and our family. You helped our baby girl across the Rainbow Bridge and for that we are forever grateful.

We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved cat, PeeWee, and we are so grateful for Dr. Jill Thomason. Having her come to our home made a world of difference. PeeWee was able to stay in her favorite spot, calm and comfortable, rather than enduring a stressful trip to the clinic. Dr. Thomason was incredibly gentle and patient, giving us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and made sure that our two large labs got the chance to say goodbye as well. She turned a heartbreaking day into a peaceful transition. Losing PeeWee was one of the hardest things our family has gone through, but Dr. Jill Thomason provided such compassionate care during her final moments. She explained everything with so much kindness and respect, ensuring PeeWee was never in pain. Her presence was steady and comforting, and we felt truly supported during the entire process. We cannot recommend her enough for anyone needing in-home euthanasia.
