FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

It is so hard to lose a pet! Dr. Mark Christine made the passing of our beloved dog Shane very peaceful and private. We were able to grieve with our whole hearts and spend his last moments in our home. Thank you Dr. Christine.

In general, we couldn't recommend more strongly taking an in home pet euthanasia approach. Your baby will be comfortable in their own home and bed with their toys and treats. And with you. Not having to transport your baby to a vet especially if they don't like rides in cars and/or are feeling poorly is an ordeal they don't have to endure. And you are afforded privacy to grieve. In particular, we can't say enough good things about Dr. Amy Lutgen DeWitt. She was wonderful. Our baby's condition worsened severely and Dr. Amy came out the day before we had scheduled. We can't forget that even though our lives were entirely focused on our boy, Dr. Amy has a life and career too. Yet she still accommodated our needs. At the house, she was wonderful with the hoomans and our boy. Too wonderful for me to put in to words. Can't recommend this approach and this vet more highly.

This was the first in home euthanasia and it couldn’t have been more peaceful. Our 11 year old Great Dane (Sally) wasn’t only surrounded by the people that love her but also her partner (Mama). Dr Duncan was incredible and walked us through every step of the process. We cried, told stories, laughed and loved on our magnificent friend. I would highly recommend this alternative service to all and anyone I know that’s beloved pet is reaching the end of life. Thank you Codapet and Dr Duncan❤️🐾🙏🙏🌈

Had our old girl put to sleep in her own bed with all her loved ones nearby and no need to endure the stress and travel for a traditional vet. Worth every penny. Our doctor was kind and a great sport dealing with the location and position in which our girl chose to rest herself for the last time.

Dr. April LeBlanc provided one of the most compassionate experiences I could have hoped for during an incredibly difficult moment. Saying goodbye to our cat of nearly 20 years was so heartbreaking, but she brought such a calm, gentle, and deeply respectful presence into our home. She took her time, explained everything clearly, and created a peaceful environment where my cat could pass comfortably and with dignity. We never felt rushed, and she made space for us to be fully present. It takes a special kind of person to show up with that level of empathy and steadiness, and to guide both pets and their humans through such an emotional moment with so much care. I’m very grateful to Dr. LeBlanc for helping make such a painful experience feel more supported and peaceful.
