A native of Olney, Maryland, Dr. Krueger holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has been practicing medicine in the Montgomery County area for the past 16 years, serving friends, family members, and clients who have become like family over time. Dr. Krueger's passion for animals began at a young age and grew as she took care of class pets and excelled in science classes throughout her school years. Dr. Caroline Bailey knows just how hard it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet—she’s been through it herself many times. With over 25 years of experience, she’s here to support you through one of the most emotional parts of the human-animal bond. After growing up in a small town in western Ohio, she earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her DVM from the University of Minnesota. Since 2003, she’s been practicing in Maryland, helping families and their pets with kindness, patience, and compassion. For Dr. Bailey, euthanasia is one of the most important and meaningful parts of veterinary medicine. She believes that pets deserve to pass in comfort, surrounded by love, and without fear or stress. She’ll take the time to talk with you, understand your needs, and create a plan that works best for you and your pet—whether that means making accommodations for a reactive dog, including young or neurodivergent family members, or simply finding the coziest place in your home to say goodbye. Outside of work, Dr. Bailey enjoys singing with the Frederick Chorale, sewing and quilting (many of the soft blankets she uses are ones she made herself), and spending time outdoors. At home, she shares life with a trio of cats—Freddy, Bennet, and Oliver—and a sweet Corgi named Lucy. Dr. Corrie Bates brings over two decades of experience in small animal medicine and a lifelong devotion to the human–animal bond. Raised just outside of Philadelphia, she knew from the time she could speak that she wanted to become a veterinarian. After earning her undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, she went on to graduate from Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Her path to veterinary medicine included early experience with a house call veterinarian, where she first witnessed the unique comfort and peace that in-home euthanasia can provide for pets and their families. Throughout her 25-year career, Dr. Bates has remained grounded in the belief that end-of-life care should be as gentle and meaningful as the life shared. She makes space for families to honor their pets in deeply personal ways—whether by sharing memories, reading a favorite poem, or playing music during their final moments. She is also attentive and respectful of any cultural, religious, or spiritual traditions that families may wish to include in their goodbye. Dr. Bates shares her home with two spirited Jack Russell Terrier mixes, Charlie and Bonnie, along with her feline companions Janis, Randy, Ozzy, Johnny, and Edgar. Her deep empathy and calm presence help guide families through this tender time with compassion, respect, and heartfelt care.

Dr. Dawn Fitzhugh grew up longing for a pet, often befriending strays. She developed a lifelong passion for animals early on. Dawn earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Following graduation, Dr. Fitzhugh proudly served in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, with assignments in Germany and Maryland. In 2019, she and her family settled in Frederick County, Maryland, where she has continued her veterinary career and community involvement. Dr. Fitzhugh’s journey into end-of-life care was shaped by her own experience with losing her own beloved dog Roly, who had been with her through vet school, international moves, and the birth of her first two daughters. When Roly became ill with cancer, a veterinarian friend came to their home to help her pass peacefully. That experience—being able to say goodbye in the comfort of home, surrounded by love—left a lasting impression. This inspired her to provide that same compassion and comfort to other families navigating the loss of a cherished pet. Today, Dr. Fitzhugh feels honored to guide pets and their families through this emotional transition with empathy, dignity, and grace. She believes that saying goodbye at home allows both animals and their people to find comfort in one of life’s most difficult moments.

Dr. Choset was born and raised in Lake Grove, New York. Growing up she had multiple dogs, horses, guinea pigs, fish and birds. Her love for animals comes from her mother, who never met an animal she didn't like. Their pets were part of the family and it was there that she learned the importance of the human-animal bond. Dr. Choset graduated from the University of Florida in 2013. Her skills include equine, shelter medicine, surgery, and has over a decade of experience in emergency and critical care. As part of her training, she is well seasoned in counseling pet owners dealing with difficult decisions regarding their senior pets. Whether is it pain management, palliative care or quality of life, she is willing to help pet owners come to the decision that works best for them and their family. Dr. Choset lives on a farm with her three dogs and three horses. She travels as often as time allows and loves anything outdoors. She enjoys riding her horses as well as hiking, climbing, visiting national parks and experiencing new locations. She also enjoys more relaxing endeavors such as gardening, house projects, and binge-watching true crime shows.
