Dr. Benjamin Litwack
Dr. Ben brings eight years of veterinary experience and a deep personal calling to care for families across South Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree from American University in 2007 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech in 2018. Alongside his specialty in compassionate end-of-life care, Dr. Ben practices as a general practice veterinarian with particular interests in geriatric medicine and dental surgery. He has been providing personalized in-home care since 2021, focusing on supporting families through some of the most difficult moments they will face as pet owners. Dr. Ben grew up in South Jersey, with his dogs as his closest friends. A high school mentorship set him on the path to being a veterinarian, and that bond still shapes how he practices today. He views in home euthanasia as a profound moment of intimacy "euthanasia is a death, a wake, and a funeral all at once. Providing a gentle intimate death is one last act of love a family can provide for their pet." Dr. Ben aims to perform this work with patience presence, and the highest level of professional care. Outside of work, Dr. Ben and his spouse raise their three children on a small farm, which is home to twelve different species of animals. The household includes three small dogs, four cats, as well as a goat, a sheep, and a miniature zebu steer rescued from a petting zoo that closed in 2020. They keep three horses and a pony, a flock of poultry, and a 21-year-old Sulcatta tortoise named Henry. When he does slow down, Dr. Ben loves to ride horses, walk in the woods, and read books aloud to his children.
