FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

As hard as losing a pet is, Dr. Anne was amazing. She discussed our options, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, & was kind throughout the whole process. At home euthanasia made my beloved dog feel as comfortable as possible & helped us feel better about the whole situation. I am so thankful for this option & would never hesitate to do this in the future if needed. Thank you for helping us during & after this difficult time!

Dr Ross was incredibly kind, loving and supportive during the most terrible and painful time. She treated us with loving compassion and made Prudence’s graduation into Heaven as peaceful as possible. I will be eternally grateful for the empathy she showed us.

Honey was our family pet for nearly 15 years. CodaPet services were recommended by a good friend. This was a dreaded event for our entire family, since our girls had essentially grown up with her in our family. Scheduling was simple via the website/app. We were sent texts prior to the day explaining what to expect and when she would arrive. When Dr. Angela De Villa arrived to our home, a sense of relief came over all of us. She was compassionate, professional, and explained each step of the process. She described the common effects of each of the medications so there was nothing that took us by surprise, or seemed scary before, during, or after. Once complete, she allowed us time with Honey to say good bye. We could relax knowing Honey was no longer feeling any pain, and she reassured us we had made the right decision as far as timing went. We will be forever grateful to her and can't imagine going through this difficult time any other way.

Dr. Kellie did an incredible job helping my family and I say goodbye to our beloved boy. Our almost 13 year old Australian Shepherd was ready to be at peace, even though we weren't ready to let him go. Dr. Kellie asked important questions, explained what she was going to do every step of the way, and ensured us and our beloved dog felt comfortable throughout the whole process. She was patient with our questions and was very sympathetic to our needs. She gave us resources for grief and some helpful worksheets for our kids to process the loss as well and honor his life. We can't thank Dr. Kellie enough for being there for our sweet boy in his final moments and letting him pass with dignity and comfort.
