FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

While we were heartbroken, this experience made it much less painful. The doctor was compassionate and thoughtful. She explained everything so that we were comfortable. I hope you never have to go through this experience, but if you do, CodaPets is the place to call.
Our dog Bella was terrified of the vet Every visit caused her stress & anxiety. We were dreading forcing that on her for her final moments. Then we heard about at home pet euthanasia. Of course it is still very hard to do, but allowing her to pass peacefully at home in her little bed was a great choice for her. It went very smoothly and we are at peace with our decision. Dr Schott was amazing, very polite, sympathetic and straight forward. She kept us informed of each step and what to expect.
Where to start. Dr. Crawford is an amazing soul. At first I did not want him to be there, of course in my mind I was thinking that our mastiff would recover. Dr. Crawford patiently listened to me babbling . When I stopped he spoke with kindness, compassion and honesty. He informed our family he was in no rush. That alone scores ten stars. He explained Odin would not feel no pain. Odin was not cooperating so Dr. Crawford went a different route. Odin went peacefully . As I write this and cry, I am so grateful that God gave us Dr. Crawford to be the veterinarian to lead inOdins passing over that rainbow bridge. We will be forever grateful and thankful. Best Regards, Law Family
Dr Juber was absolutely incredible. This was an extremely tough time for my family is she was just wonderful . She had sheets for the kids to fill out asking their favorite memories and even little paw prints to put some hair in. This was the best decision having her come to the house .
Even though meeting under the circumstances, Dr. Amy felt more like friend or family member to us. She included our 8yr old son, explained everything in detail and our other 2 dogs were also included in the process. We hugged before she left, That meant everything to me! We received a sweet handwritten card from her about a week later with her condolences. I will recommend Dr. Amy over and over to families! We are still grieving our boy but doing this at home with Dr. Amy made the heartache a little less.
We had to say goodbye to our beloved 13.5-year-old Golden Retriever, Jess, on Easter Sunday, and Dr. Nicolette Michelli from CodaPet made one of the hardest days of our lives as bearable as possible. Jess had been battling lung cancer and declined very rapidly over the weekend. We had originally scheduled a Monday appointment, but her condition worsened so quickly that we needed to move it up to Sunday morning. Dr. Michelli immediately accommodated us and came to our home with such compassion and professionalism. From the moment she arrived, she was calm, gentle, and incredibly supportive. She walked us through the entire procedure step by step, answered all of our questions, and gave us the time and space we needed to be with Jess. Her kindness and quiet strength helped us through the overwhelming grief of that moment. She treated Jess with the utmost respect and dignity, helping our sweet girl cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and without pain. We are so grateful to Dr. Michelli for her empathy, expertise, and the care she showed both to Jess and to our family during such a painful time. She truly turned an incredibly difficult experience into one filled with compassion and grace. We cannot recommend Dr. Nicolette Michelli and CodaPet highly enough. If you ever find yourself in the heartbreaking position of needing at-home euthanasia for your pet, please reach out to them. They will treat you and your beloved companion with the dignity, respect, and kindness you both deserve. Thank you, Dr. Michelli, from the bottom of our hearts. You helped us give Jess the loving farewell she deserved.
