Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Palatine, IL
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Ann was wonderful. She answered all of our questions and was very sympathetic to our situation. Having our dog pass at home was a very family oriented experience. Thanks to everyone that we dealt with from Coda
Dr Ann was amazing during this difficult time. So kind, gentle and very patient. I’m so glad I chose Dr Ann and being at home to say good bye to Grace.
Dr. Alicia made our in home pet euthanasia experience beautiful. We didn’t want to say goodbye to our beloved pup, Calvin, but it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Alicia contacted us in advance, communicated exactly what would happen, and asked our preferences for what we wanted. She arrived on time and spent almost two hours with us, assuring Calvin was comfortable and we were supported. She asked us about Calvin, and grieved with us. She treated him, and us, with care and respect. She followed up a few times after his passing to check on our well being. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ve already given her name and number to two friends with aging pups.
I just want to thank you for helping Annabell and myself I took one of the ink paw prints that were made for me and went and got it tattoo of the paw print so thank you for that. It was much appreciated So thank you again Shelly and family
We decided to do an in home pet euthanasia when it was time to say goodbye to our Bella. We spared her a final stressful visit to the vet. Bella was comfortable, at home, and surrounded by everything familiar. Dr. Mary Juber was so kind. She was respectful and gentle and talked us through everything and made a difficult process as peaceful as it can be. She showed our pet respect and gentleness from start to finish and showed all of us great kindness. I cannot recommend Dr. Juber and CodaPet at home pet euthanasia more highly. We will never use another method again.
I wish I could give Codapet a thousand stars! First reason is how easy it was to schedule online without having to call someone and wait on the phone for them to answer, especially when you're upset. Second, all pricing is listed without no hidden fees. But the main reason is the veterinarian they provide. There couldn't have been a better person than Dr. Walden. The time I scheduled turned out it wasn't going to be right because my Tinkerbell was in distress and passing quickly.Dr. Walden, whom I was able to text her and she gave up some of her personal time and come to us quickly! She was so caring and respectful to my little dog and us. There was no rush or "Business talk" because everything had been taken care of online. We also had cremation arranged in our package and Dr. Walden took her to the crematory. She was very gentle with my little dog the whole process. Even days after she was making sure everything had gone well with the crematory. The crematory they have a contract with ( Faithful companion) were also nice people from their phone calls to the young person who brought me Tinkerbell's ashes back. They provided a beautiful footprint and wooden box urn at no extra charge and resources for grieving pet parents. I couldn't have asked for anything better for my beloved pet to pass at home surrounded by loved ones and a caring compassionate veterinarian.
