Wanda was 14 years old. She was such a big part of our family, we couldn’t imagine saying goodbye to her at the vet’s office. Everyone was here with her, including Kiko our 6 year old rescue. Dr John was everything we needed that day. Patient, understanding, compassionate and professional. Thank you to Dr John and Codapet, especially for the questionnaire to help understand if it was time to say goodbye. Wanda runs free now with Mel and Bruiser. Goodbye girl.

Saying goodbye to our dog Lucy was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to face, but choosing in-home pet euthanasia was absolutely the right decision for HER (and for us) Lucy was only 7.5 years old. She lost her vision at the age of 5 and spent the last 2.5 years navigating the world in darkness. She adapted in her own way, relying on familiarity, scent, and the comfort of home. That’s why we knew we didn’t want her final moments to be in a stressful, unfamiliar environment like a veterinary office. Dr. Murray, who came to our home showed incredible compassion. He took the time to sit with us and ask about Lucy, what she loved, her personality, her routines. It didn’t feel clinical or rushed; it felt personal, respectful, and deeply human. Because Lucy was blind, she didn’t experience fear or confusion about being taken somewhere new. To her, it was simply another calm moment at home—another visitor stopping by. That gave us an incredible sense of peace. Dr. Murray patiently walked us through every step of the process, making sure we understood what was happening and what to expect. Most importantly, he gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. There was no pressure, no rushing—just quiet support during one of the most emotional moments of our lives. Lucy passed peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved her, in the place where she felt safest. We are so grateful for the empathy and professionalism shown to us and to Lucy. For anyone facing this difficult decision, I cannot recommend in-home euthanasia enough. It allowed Lucy to leave this world with dignity, comfort, and love. It gave us the chance to say goodbye in the most meaningful way possible.

Mac was my first pet- my kitty cat of 18 years. I consider myself very fortunate to have had him as a buddy for so long. So when he showed signs of his time being up, I knew from a friend -in home pet euthanasia- was a peaceful goodbye. Dr. John Murray was beyond thoughtful and professional with amazing bedside manner. Mac had a wonderful last day at home and I held him in my arms as we said goodbye. It was beyond hard, but I also wouldn’t have it any other way looking back. Mac hated his car carrier, the car, a vet office is so cold. We were in our beautiful, sunny room, comfortable and well, I’d want to go the same way! Our cat, who was normally shy and skittish of new people (including vets) was brushing up against him and letting Dr. Murray pet him, which says a lot to me. I would like to start by saying I wish all could afford to do this for their beloved pet when the time comes. For us, our Madison was very high on the FAS scale her whole life. Vet visits were always very traumatic for her. When her time came, it was an immense relief that someone like Dr Murray could be there for her, and us. To have her pass surrounded by her loving family, in her favorite sunny spot, on her favorite bed, was a god send. From beginning to end, Dr Murray and CodaPet have been nothing but amazing. Making the difficult decision to help a pet pass is not an easy one, but I am ultimately grateful I was able to coordinate at home pet euthanasia for my beloved kitty. Dr. Murray immediately put my mind at ease when he walked in the door. Not an overly affectionate cat, I was surprised to see Gracie put her head under Dr. Murray's hand when he reached out to pet her the first time. I do wish that I had been restraining her when Dr. Murray injected the first shot because Gracie flew off my lap and was attempting to stand on her legs within seconds of that injection (unfortunately, it's an image that I keep rehashing in my mind). My fault--not Dr. Murray's--but I was shocked how fast the first shot took effect. In spite of that memory, I will not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Murray when Gracie's sister needs to cross the rainbow bridge in the probable not too distant future.

I've had many pets and I'm always there at the end, and I've always found vets to be compassionate. Dr. John Murray though is amazing. He took the time to ask us about Patch, how long he'd been with us, what his favorite things to do and eat were. Then between the sedative and the final injection he took his time to make sure everything was prepared correctly. He took a paw imprint and nose print while we watched. After the final injection he put a bandage over the injection point - such respect for our Patchy, and such compassion that I've never seen in a vet before. He then gave us time with Patchy before he left. He is such a kind and considerate person.

Dr. Murray provided emotional support at the time we needed it the most . My dog Lucy was 16 and , unfortunately, was dealing was dealing with illness that no longer was treatable. She was loosing weight and I just couldn’t bear a thought of driving her to office. I knew how scared she was of new smells and new people. I wanted her to be comfortable and loved in her last moments . I’ve heard about Dr. Murray from one of my patients and was able to schedule the same day visit. Dr. Murray was heaven sent for our family and our Chihuahua Voz. We knew Voz had limited time but he deteriorated quickly overnight on a weekend. Our vet was not available for compassionate euthanization when Voz needed it and we were heartbroken and anxious. A friend steered us to Dr. Murray and he made Voz a priority on a Saturday afternoon, he met us and Voz and discussed our best options. He helped us to feel comfortable with our decision and treated our Voz as if he were his own. While we were devastated, we felt comforted that this happened in a space that was important for Voz and us. Dr. Murray can never know how important he was to us that day.

This was my first experience with putting down a dog. In this case my Mylo. Dr. Murray had this calm collected energy when he came in and respected all my wishes of wanting to do it in my backyard. His presence kept me calm and relaxed even though it was one of the hardest things I have had to do in my adult life. I honestly wouldn’t have stayed so calm. He was informative and didn’t rush the process in the slightest. I got to give my Mylo a huge slice of chocolate cake right before he fell asleep. When we unfortunately had to find someone to euthanize our beloved dog Auggie, we did a lot of research and talked to many companies to find the right professional to help us in our home. It was important for us to do this at home and make our dog feel comfortable! We received a recommendation for Dr. John Murry through Code a Pet and we are very thankful that we did. He was very communicative prior to arriving at our house and right away made us feel very at ease, at least as much as we could considering what we were about to do. Once he arrived he took the time to explain the process, how it would be done and to insure that we were as comfortable as possible and that our dog would not feel any pain. He was very considerate and compassionate the whole time. He took the time to ask about Auggie and listened while we shared stories and our history together. We have had to unfortunately do this for our prior dog and 2 cats, and wish we could have used Dr. Murry and could have done this at home like we did with our dog Auggie. It was so much more serene and comfortable for our pet to be home in his familiar environment. I highly recommend this process and especially Dr. John Murry! We couldn't have been happier all things considered. Thank you Dr. Murry!

We have been through the dying process with pets before, and it is never easy. This was by far the most compassionate, caring and comforting experience. We appreciate Dr. Murray's rapid response, thorough explanation to everyone in the family, and care in handling our pet and giving us time to say goodbye.

Dr Murray was so kind empathetic and caring at the most difficult time imaginable..I feel at peace knowing that we did not bring our beloved pup into a cold vet office to end his life. He fell asleep in our arms in his warm bed with the people who loved him most! I can not say enough about how much this meant to us ..knowing he was no longer suffering. I would highly recommend Dr.Murray for anyone in this situation. He returned our calls immediately..laid out exactly what the plan was...and supported us with loving caring words during such an emotional time. If ever placed in this situation again..I would never hesitate to call him again. Much love for all he did to get me and my family through this!

I want thank Dr. Murray for the kindness, tenderness and compassion he showed towards our Clover and each family member. This was such a difficult and heartbreaking decision to make with so many mixed emotions reaching it. Having the option of having him come to us really helped us because Clover didn’t enjoy car rides and going to the vet was very upsetting. To be able to spare her all the stress and anxiety in her final moments and to see her slip gently pass in her own home was the best possible way to handle the passing of a much loved family member. Even as she left, she looked peaceful and asleep gently tucked in under a blanket. Lastly I want to praise him for the tactful way he handled the billing and discreet way he left his business card without intruding upon our grief. I have already spoken to friends about the care quality of his work. This must be a difficult job to perform but Dr. Murray has a genuine natural gift which he performs so well. I’m glad it was he who came to us.
