Dr. Jill Thomason
Dr. Jill Thomason understands how deeply pets are woven into our lives and how important it is to say goodbye with dignity, comfort, and love. Originally from Arkansas, she has lived and practiced in several parts of the country—including Louisiana, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina—before settling in California to be closer to her sister and young niece and nephew. She earned her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University in 2019 and went on to complete an intensive internship in emergency, specialty, and surgical care at the renowned Friendship Hospital for Animals in D.C. Since then, she has spent years working in emergency medicine, helping animals and their families through some of their most critical moments. It was during these experiences—especially saying goodbye to her own beloved dog, Jackie—that Dr. Thomason came to truly understand the value of in-home euthanasia. While emergency settings are no stranger to urgent decisions and palliative care has always been a passion for Dr. Thomason, helping Jackie pass peacefully at home, surrounded by love and familiarity, was a profoundly moving experience that reshaped her path. She believes that when possible, pets deserve to spend their final moments in the comfort of home, free from fear and stress. That belief is at the heart of her work today. Dr. Thomason brings warmth, empathy, and medical expertise to every family she serves. Her earliest inspiration came at just four years old, when she witnessed the quiet compassion of the veterinarian who helped her family say goodbye to a beloved pet. That memory has stayed with her throughout her life and career. At home, Dr. Thomason shares her space with Sunny, a goofy and lovable orange cat, whose constant purring brings comfort and joy. Jackie, her late 13-year-old blue heeler mix, will always be remembered as her heart dog and adventurous soulmate.
