During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Kelly Stern is a compassionate veterinarian. She cares a great deal about her patients and their comfort. She is excellent at explaining medical terminology in a pet owner friendly way. I would recommend her services to anyone.
Dr. Laura was so good with our family and Sadie as we said goodbye to our 14 year old Shepherd. She was calm, professional and understanding. Thank you.
Dr. John Murray helped our sweet girl, Jordan, cross the rainbow bridge in the comfort of our home. He went above and beyond in terms of making us and Jordan feel comfortable with the process. I couldn’t imagine my sweet girl spending her last moments scared and stressed at the vet’s office. This was our last act of love to our baby and I’m so happy that Dr. Murray had time to help us on a Sunday on short notice. He drove all the way from the NW Chicago burbs to the SW burbs as well. We will miss our baby doogie more than words can express but there is a great deal of peace that we feel after experiencing Jordan cross that rainbow bridge in such a peaceful way in the comfort of our home. Mommy and daddy were the last thing she saw as she crossed that bridge and I know she felt comfort, love, and happiness in that moment.
We are happy we chose euthanasia at home. Dr. Krueger was very caring and empathetic. She made us feel at ease. She understood what we were going through. I can recommend her to anyone.
Dr Angela is a very professional and kind person. Can’t thank her enough for the afterlife service and for the in-home euthanasia. She assured me that it was absolutely painless, which was so comforting. She answered all my questions with compassion. She carried the basket out to her vehicle, as if there was a baby inside with so much care, dedication and respect. Rex was two weeks short of 15y. . I had requested cremation on same day bring a Hindu, and she arranged for same making a special request successfully. That meant so much and brought closure to me. I would recommend her services to anyone in same situation as me.
Dr. Stephanie Norman was wonderful to help with the passing of my beloved dog after 17 years. She was patient, sensitive to my dog and my needs, and communicated everything as she was doing it and before to prepare me. She helped make the hardest decision feel like a peaceful passing.
