FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Brittany Rizzo was so kind and gave our 16 year old boy the most peaceful passing. Taking him to the vet would have been so stressful for him in his last moments. What a gift it was to say goodbye at home with his favorite people.
I don't think I could possibly put into words how kind of a soul she is. Our 14 year old girl was sadly don't doing good at all. And on a Sunday. Dr came all the way to our house from Vancouver and sat with my mom on the floor and talked us through the entire process. She was very gentle and loving. Gave us lots of opportunities to leave the room is we needed, reminded us that this is a safe space and all emotions are welcome. I genuinely cannot recommend her more. She is such a kind and loving woman.
Dr. Delia Gregory-Macdonald was such an ideal match to the energy and love we had hoped to send our dear Bandit over the rainbow bridge with. Her compassion, warmth, and gentle spirit are a blessing to all.
While this is a review for a service I hoped I would never need, I cannot adequately state how much we appreciated Dr. Josh Williams and his kindness throughout this process. He prioritized Dyson’s comfort above everything, and carefully and thoroughly explained the process to ensure we were prepared. He did not rush the process, but instead treated Dyson and our other pets with so much respect and love. It’s beyond clear that Dr. Josh truly cares about each companion he helps cross to the next part of their journey. Thank you, Dr. Josh. Words cannot express how significant of an impact you had in such an important moment in our lives.
This was the second time having to use CodaPet. Although this is one of the most painful decisions you have to make, it’s by far the best experience for your family & beloved pet. Both veterinarians were so patient & understanding. We shared stories of our pets & both vets waited until we were ready to say goodbye. If you’re second guessing the decision of home euthanasia, please consider going this route. It’s much easier on your furbaby & your family. I will always recommend CodaPet to family & friends.
Dr. April Le Blanc was amazingly generous with her time and her care. This was extremely emotional and stressful but she made it as humane and caring possible. Thank you again for everything you did for our family.
