FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

My family and I will never forget the gentleness and compassion Dr. Houck gave us in the passing of our baby girl. We have gone through this process several other times in the past but this was the kindest and most caring. If we could give her 100 Stars we would!!
Euthanizing our beloved Ranger was one of the hardest decisions we had to make. Ranger had cancer, he couldn't eat he became weak and had lost so much weight that we knew the time had come to give him some peace. Home Euthanasia was such a blessing. Dr. Fowler was so kind and compassionate. Ranger passed away on his favorite bed, my son held his head on his lap as he peacefully went to sleep.
I am very grateful for the in home euthanasia services CodaPet offers. Dr. Kristina Pugh was exceptional and made the entire process easier while helping our beloved dog end his suffering from Lymphoma. She explained everything calmly and truthfully so we knew what to expect. You could tell both of our dogs felt comfortable with her presence. There was no rushing through the process or our goodbyes. If you have to make this choice for your pet, doing it at home made the process a bit more comfortable for us and them.
While the experience is not something I would want to repeat anytime soon, I would very impressed with the bedside manner of our vet. She was respectful, caring and supportive. Our cat Max had a peaceful entry to the other side. I would recommend this service to others.
Today was a tough day for our family. Our beautiful GSD finally succumbed to degenerative myelopathy. Dr. Ann Gonnering was so empathetic and kind in this incredibly difficult time. She was thoughtful of ensuring our boy was not overly stimulated when she arrived and she was very understanding of our grief and gave us all the time and space we needed. We will forever be grateful for kindness she showed us in such a difficult time. It's a special gift for someone to be able to assist our pets with dignity in their final moments.
In-home pet euthanasia was new for us, but it made all the difference for us and our dog, who never liked visiting the clinic. Dr Norman was gentle and compassionate, and took plenty of time with us. We did the right thing here.
