FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

As hard as it was to let our 16 year old cat go, Dr. Katie was wonderful. She was kind, informative, patient and simply a blessing to our family during a tough afternoon. From her quiet demeanor, to explaining how everything would work, and giving us as much time as we wanted with our girl, Dr. Katie was the ultimate professional and the support we needed. Although the at-home process is more expensive than the vet, the peace and comfort our family felt by being in our own surroundings and being able to be with our fur baby while she passed was worth the extra cost. While it's not something I hope to do anytime soon, I will 100% lean on Dr. Katie for our future needs.

Dr. Sara Gardhouse was a wonderful guide through a really difficult process. The in-home pet euthanasia experience with CodaPet was seamless and as pleasant as this kind of experience can be. We were able to schedule and reschedule as needed to ensure we were honoring our cat and his needs. Their offerings were much appreciated and exactly what we were looking for.

We recently had to euthanize our beloved pet. The question was how and where. We decided on in-home euthanasia with Codapet. Dr Karen Duncan came to our home and instantly put us at ease. Saying goodbye to our little Bailey was difficult and Dr Duncan helped us through the process. There was never any rush and the schedule was ours. I highly recommend these folks and this process if you ever need to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

Dr Jill Thomason with Coda Pet came to our home for euthanasia for our sweet boy Dash. It was the best possible experience for Dash and us. It was peaceful, and relaxed. Dash was comfortable in his surroundings. Dr Jill was so kind and thoughtful. She greeted Dash and spent time getting to know him. She explained the process so we knew what to expect and gave us the time we needed. She offered flat paw prints which are a sweet memento of our boy. I can’t recommend Dr Jill more highly!

Dr. Martin made a very difficult time a bit easier with his kindness and empathy. He explained every step thoroughly and helped distract me a bit by getting me to talk about Missy's life. It was definitely a much more peaceful and much less stressful process than when my cat Bruce was euthanized at a clinic a few years ago. I very much appreciate him helping Missy find a peaceful end to her long life.

For the first time in 40+ years of dog ownership I needed to seek in home pet euthanasia. Two and a half years ago our 15 year old pitbull mix sweetheart, Cassie, was diagnosed with cancer and given weeks to live. She defied the experts for over 30 wonderful months. But the time came to seek help and Dr. Melissa Magnotto was one of my vet's recommendations. I contacted Dr Magnotto who called me prior to her visit to explain the procedure and answer any questions. Immediately upon entering our home she greeted Cassie, comforted her and was genuinely interested in learning about Cassie as an individual and her life with us. I have been able to find solace in that everything was so peaceful at the end for Cassie and her family. Thank you Dr Magnotto for providing such a valuable service to the animal lovers of our world 🥰
