FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

When it was time to put our beloved cat down, we reached out to Dr Anschultz, and we're so very glad we did. The doctor provided a cat bed that was held by my husband and we all got an opportunity to share about what a special girl our cat was and how much she meant to us. When it was done, Dr Anschultz took our cat's paw print in plaster so we had a memento to remember her by. Dr Anschultz helped turn a devastating time into something beautiful and meaningful. I so highly recommend Dr Anschultz to anyone who loves their pet but has to let them go.
This was the first time we used a service that came to our home to euthanize a pet. Dr. Keri with CodaPet was calming and compassionate. She reviewed the process, let us know what to expect and kept us informed during each step. It's never easy to say good bye to a pet. CodaPet understands that and provided us the opportunity to have a peaceful good bye.
Dr. Keri Wasmoen is the kindest, most compassionate vet. I truly think she was made for this job of helping pets cross over the rainbow bridge. She made the process so much easier with her kindness. She explained everything she was going to be doing and asking me if I was okay during every step of the process. Even after he passed she was so gentle with him. She helped me to make nose and pawprints. She helped to make the worst day a little easier. I could not be more thankful for her.
Today was incredibly hard because of losing our dear Gus. The one great thing was CodaPet and Dr. Ann Gonnering who was amazing, patient and just great. She made it a lot easier for all of us including our 6yo son.
Having to say Goodbye to your furbaby especially when you have to decide it's time for them its never easy feat. We had been through this in the last year or two with 2 others. We first learned of In-home Euthanasia for pets from a neighbor who had her Dog put down & went on & on how great it was, it was loving & it was incredibly compassionate & gentle throughout the entire in-home euthanasia process. Our neighbor said she would never visit an office & only have it done in the convenience of her home where the fur baby knows & feels loved. Dr Marisel San Miguel with Codapet was our point of contact ( Codapet works with License Veternarians across the country for this service). We had scheduled a time but we knew time was of the essence & switched the appointment to earlier. Dr Marisel showed up 5 minutes early explained the process which wevbeen through before. Dr Marisel gave us time to love, grieve & cry with our Koby & didn't feel rushed in the comfort of our home that our koby knows. Dr. Marisel made a heartbreaking moment feel peaceful & full of love, treating our Koby with such dignity & kindness. Her calm presence, patience, & genuine care meant more to our family than we can express. Choosing in-home euthanasia for our dog Koby was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made, but it also gave us the chance to say goodbye in a peaceful, familiar place surrounded by love which we have done before. Being able to hold him, talk to him, & let him go without fear or stress brought comfort during an incredibly painful moment. Even though the grief was overwhelming, we’re grateful his final moments were calm & filled with love.” Thank you Dr Marisel San Miguel with Codapet.
Dr. Marlene Anschultz helped to create a beautiful experience at our home for the final passing of our beautiful fur baby. She came with various treats and compassion and understanding for the situation. We would highly recommend using her. Thank you for your clear love for our baby.
