FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience , for something so difficult. Rebecca came into our home and made us feel so comfortable. We were able to take our time through the whole process , our sweet old man was comfortable and it was such a peaceful experience. I will always recommend her to anyone that has to go through this. Thank you Rebecca!

It is with much gratitude that I will gladly leave this review for Josh Williams with CodaPet, who came to our home at a moment's notice in the evening to euthanize our beloved dog Pippin. We have had many pets, cats, dogs and horses and unfortunately had to euthanize many of them over the years. We have never experienced such kindness, compassion and understanding before we met Josh. He was gentle, kind and respectful to Pippin throughout the procedure. Josh also showed compassion for us and our other pets. He explained the whole procedure and what to expect before and after. He took his time and never did we feel rushed. The thing that struck me was that he advised us to have all other pets come say goodbye to Pippin, especially his mate Emma who grew up alongside him. They all did, especially Emma. She still goes back and circles the site where Pippin passed away. After Pippin was gone, Josh gave us private time to say our last goodbyes. Josh was prepared, he even brought a stretcher with him to transport Pippin to his car. He made us feel understood and knowing that Pippin was in good hands afterwards helped us. Josh took care of bringing Pip to the crematorium and we will soon have his ashes back. Josh, we will recommend you to all our friends and neighbors. Niki and Nick Nickerson

Dr. Keri Wasmoen came to our home to help our cat Jax pass on, we scheduled her less than 24 hours prior. She was kind, calm and prompt. They sent a 2 hour notification to gently remind us of what is coming. When Dr. Keri was here I thought there might be an issue with crawling into my bed where Jax preferred to stay. She had no issues and met Jax where he was comfortable. She explained each step before she did it and asked us about our journey with Jax as well. After Jax passed she helped us make a keepsake paw print and also offered to help us get him off the bed. Really just the whole experience from beginning to end was calm and full of love and compassion from a complete stranger. If you have the opportunity to help your baby pass this way I know Codapets is a great choice.

Dr. Elizabeth Parks was stunningly talented in helping us say goodbye to our beloved golden retriever Brooks. We had little advance knowledge he would decline overnight. She carefully followed our wishes and helped guide us through the process. She lovingly eased our pet - and us - through the process. I especially appreciated the care and attention to detail she provided at the end. She lovingly placed him on a blanket on the stretcher and made a pillow for his head. She tucked another print blanket over him ticking it all around his torso. My last memory of him will forever be how sweet and comfortable he looked with his head and paws out just like he would sleep on our couch. Bless Dr. Parks for her compassion, intuitive understanding and skill.

Dr. Lydia was amazing, compassionate, gave ample information so we could be more prepared for the loss of our dear pet. Significantly better experience than taking my dog to the vet. I felt like the family was able to surround our pet with love and deep respect, making the process a bit less difficult. So very hard to lose a 4 legged family member. Thank you, Dr. Lydia!

I can't say enough nice things about Dr Catherine Whitman, this is a hard thing to do and she made Dixie comfortable and me as well. Made sure I had time to grieve and showed a lot of compassion for my girl . This is one tough decision to make but it was the right one for us. Thank you.
