FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

This was one of the hardest things we have had to experience in our lives with our dogs. Dr. Kelsey Jones was very kind, generous, and patient. Our boy took to her and she listened to some stories and got to know him. During the time she spent helping us get through this, her genuineness and compassion was evident and a big blessing. If you are having to make this decision for your pet family please consider this option. I believe that in our situation it was a way that allowed more ease for him and more peace for us. Thank you again Dr. Kelsey Jones for all your consideration and kindness.
Dr. Mumm was so kind and thoughtful throughout the process. She made the transition as painless as possible for our family, with the utmost respect to our feelings and for our beloved pet.
Dr. Marlene is the calming and comforting presence you need when you have to make the difficult decision to let your furry family member go. She made herself avaialble on short notice and just one day after Christmas to come to our home and help send our pup to peace. She gave us all of the time we needed to say goodbye and helped guide us through one of the most emotional experiences you can have.
Dr. Jones did a great job. During a difficult time for our family she guided us through the entire experience. Before the visit she explained everything and asked if we had any questions. During the proceedure she was calm and very respectfull of our emotions. She was very professional and we are grateful that our fur baby spent his final moments at home, with family. Thank you so much for removing complication and stress from a tough day for our family.
When our 19 year old kitty, Porkchop, let us know that he was ready, we knew that in home pet euthanasia was what was right for him. We did not want to say goodbye to him in a cold veterinary office where he would be stressed and scared. Dr. Houck was so compassionate, kind, and patient with our family as we said our goodbyes. She explained everything to us very well. I would definitely recommend her services through Coda Pet.
Highly recommend CodaPet and Dr. Lori who made a difficult and sad day peaceful, gentle, and respectful. Their website is easy to navigate and gives you no commitment upfront pricing when you click on different dates and enter some information. I appreciated Dr. Lori's experience, knowledge, and kindness. I'm glad my vet recommended CodaPet. 🐾🌈
