FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to my beloved 16-year-old Schnoodle, Chief. Carolyn provided in-home euthanasia services, and I cannot say enough about the kindness and compassion she showed Chief and us. Carolyn was immediately warm and friendly and so understanding. She explained every step beforehand, answered our questions & made sure we knew what to expect. Her confidence was reassuring to us. The best gift she gave us was the opportunity for Chief to remain comfortable in his own home, surrounded by love. I was able to hold him in my lap as he peacefully passed; a memory I will always cherish. Carolyn showed genuine compassion for our family during one of the most difficult moments we’ve faced. I am deeply grateful for her care and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a peaceful, loving, and professional end-of-life experience for their pet.

Words can't express how grateful we are to Dr. Litwack for allowing us to say goodbye to our Tess at home surrounded by love and comfort. Dr. Litwack was so kind, caring and compassionate throughout the entire process, first explaining what would occur, and then helping us along the way while giving us time to say our goodbyes. I would highly recommend him if you are considering in home euthanasia for your pet. Thank you Dr. Litwack.

Karen was amazing through the whole process of saying goodbye to our Sierra. She asked questions about how we got interested in Shelties and about Sierra. She walked us through every step of the process and was gentle and kind. The experience at home was very peaceful and much better than being the vet’s office.

We had an emergency situation and knew our beloved husky’s time was at hand. Because my wife and I were traveling and unable to get back home we contacted Codapet and Dr. Jen was immediately available at very short notice. She came to the house and handled this sad and emotional time for our family with love and gentleness and grace. We were able to be there via FaceTime and what had started out as a really difficult event turned into a beautiful and peaceful sendoff for our beloved husky.

We adopted a tiny 6 pound senior yorkie last year and fell completely in love with her. We knew from day one that she didn’t have much time left but we spent it getting her the best medical care and making sure she was as happy and comfortable as possible. We got 8 beautiful months with her and the decision to let her go was agonizing. Dr. Wratten gave us the most beautiful, calming experience with our girl. My partner fed her treats and I held her in my arms while she drifted away peacefully. She then provided a basket and blankets that we wrapped her in to send her away for cremation. I will never use another vet as long as Dr Wratten is in this field and I highly recommend her services.

On the worst day of Gypsy's 14+ years of life, Dr. Shanina Halbert was an incredible counselor. She was kind, knowledgeable, communicative, compassionate, and spiritually soothing in her approach to in home euthanasia. The process was peaceful. Gypsy was surrounded by love and, in the end, by chamomile flowers and a wreath of leaves.
