FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Laura was caring, personable and professional. She understood our feelings and needs during this process. She was patient and helpful in explaining the process to us both.
Our baby boy deal was a story he was a veteran's service dog and the veteran was so mean to him and then the person died and they left him out there by himself for 4 months then he went to a foster home and we got him and we had him for four beautiful years and the day that we got him I told him that he would never have a day without tons of love and kindness then he developed cancer and unfortunately we had to let him go and I'm going to tell you right now Coda pet I could not have asked for any better release of that baby home Amy the vet was wonderful kind compassionate understanding patient and just made everything as easy as it could on him he died and passed away so easy and so peaceful it gave us some comfort and then adding the fact that we cremated him and his ashes are here at home where it needs to be on the shelf the whole service that they offer is beyond words again I want to thank all of them for the things that they did and they continue support they give me. We had to say goodbye to our beloved 13.5-year-old Golden Retriever, Jess, on Easter Sunday, and Dr. Nicolette Michelli from CodaPet made one of the hardest days of our lives as bearable as possible. Jess had been battling lung cancer and declined very rapidly over the weekend. We had originally scheduled a Monday appointment, but her condition worsened so quickly that we needed to move it up to Sunday morning. Dr. Michelli immediately accommodated us and came to our home with such compassion and professionalism. From the moment she arrived, she was calm, gentle, and incredibly supportive. She walked us through the entire procedure step by step, answered all of our questions, and gave us the time and space we needed to be with Jess. Her kindness and quiet strength helped us through the overwhelming grief of that moment. She treated Jess with the utmost respect and dignity, helping our sweet girl cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and without pain. We are so grateful to Dr. Michelli for her empathy, expertise, and the care she showed both to Jess and to our family during such a painful time. She truly turned an incredibly difficult experience into one filled with compassion and grace. We cannot recommend Dr. Nicolette Michelli and CodaPet highly enough. If you ever find yourself in the heartbreaking position of needing at-home euthanasia for your pet, please reach out to them. They will treat you and your beloved companion with the dignity, respect, and kindness you both deserve. Thank you, Dr. Michelli, from the bottom of our hearts. You helped us give Jess the loving farewell she deserved.
Dr. Patterson is excellent. She made the very difficult experience of putting our beloved cat down as easy, peaceful and comforting as possible.
Like most all animal lovers, we never wanted to face the day when a difficult decision had to be made regarding our dog “Striker”. Dr. John Crawford was a God send during this time. He spent time getting to know Striker one on one. He was genuinely interested in hearing as many Striker stories as we could share to ease our pain a bit. Our overall experience was one of best we could have hoped for during a difficult time. God Bless Dr. John Crawford!
Dr. Lauren Silvesti is an angel. It's never easy saying goodbye to a dear companion. With calm compassion, Dr Lauren was the much-needed balm during a very distressing time. My heartfelt thanks.
