FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Keri was amazing. She made the entire process clear and took the time to explain everything in detail. Her soothing, calm presence made the experience much easier. She was incredibly caring and professional, ensuring a peaceful and comforting experience for Crystal and our family.
Dr. Ross located in the Southern CA area treated us with compassion, and even sent a sympathy note. I will always trust Codapet with at-home euthanasia for my beloved pets.
Dr McCasland exhibited compassion and understanding. She explained the process and gave us the time we needed with Oliver through each step. As painful as it was to see our fur baby pass, Dr McCasland was with us just like a family member with complete support. I cannot thank her enough for her professionalism and compassion.
Dr. Parks was amazing! Great "bedside manner". I couldn't have asked for the experience to be any better. I highly recommend CodaPet and Dr. Parks in particular.
As hard as losing a pet is, Dr. Anne was amazing. She discussed our options, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, & was kind throughout the whole process. At home euthanasia made my beloved dog feel as comfortable as possible & helped us feel better about the whole situation. I am so thankful for this option & would never hesitate to do this in the future if needed. Thank you for helping us during & after this difficult time!
With the rough ride my husband and I were going through, and still not ready to let our 13-year old baby girl go, Dr. Keri gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. She was very sympathetic and supported us in every way possible. She explained every step to us before she started so that we wouldn't have any concerns during the process. She gave us time to grieve after we put her down, and I was able to wrap her up in her favorite blanket before Dr. Keri placed her into a soft, cat bed to take her away. Dr. Keri also gave us a pawprint keepsake, and some of Kala's fur to keep. (Both optional if you want it.) She is just an amazing person, and I would highly recommend her to help comfort the family, and especially your fur baby.
