FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Katie Todd is an incredible doctor, especially considering coming to homes for in home euthanasia. We recently made the decision to put down our dog and did not want to stress her with a visit to the vet, surrounded by strangers and weird smells. Instead we reached out to CodaPet and got in touch with Dr. Katie Todd. Making the decision to put down our dog was incredibly difficult and she made the process feel as respectful and compassionate as I could have hoped. The experience far exceeded my expectations.
Dr Shannon was wonderful. As for the personal experience, I was as close to my cat Spudley, as one could be so having to make a decision as that was as hard as it gets. I would recommend the service but do your emotional homework before
So thankful to be able to find a service to put my baby girl down at home in the comfort of my arms in her favorite spot! Worst day of my life, but they made it easier on me! Thank-you
The experience of having to say goodbye to a beloved pet(s) is very difficult because they are family. Dr. Kelsey Jones with CodaPet made our tough decision bearable. She came to our home and sat on the floor with our dog Charlie and allowed us to take our time to visit and say goodbye in his own surroundings, treats and all. We cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Kelsey for being there for us and sincerely caring. Thank You
I'm so grateful for CodaPet, and for Dr. Amanda Harper, who helped my senior cat Lily peacefully cross over from this world to the Rainbow Bridge, in the comfort of Lily's safe space in our home. Dr. Harper treated both Lily and I with compassion, patience, and genuine loving kindness. I was able to hold Lily in my arms when she crossed over, pray over her, and sing her our song. The experience was a blessing, and Dr. Harper provided Lily and I with a sacred and intimate moment that I'll never forget and will always cherish and be thankful for, because Lily didn't suffer, and I was able to give Lily one last gift of love on this earth. Thanks to Dr. Harper, Lily had a peaceful and dignified passing, which is especially meaningful for Lily because she had trauma from visiting clinics, and getting there gave her tremendous anxiety. If you have the means to, I recommend CodaPet and their mobile veterinarian services for your pets’ needs. Thank you with all of my heart, Dr. Harper. You are an angel on earth. Lily and I are blessed that you came to our home, and I’m forever grateful for the love and peace you provided to my sweet baby, and the comfort you provided to my heart and peace of mind. Sending you so much love and blessings. You truly make this world a more beautiful place to be. With Love and Light, Carrie. <3
Edgar was the absolute best cat anyone could dream of. His mom was my childhood cat and Ed was her very last kitten. He never hissed, scratched or bit anyone, just a sweet boy always ready to snack. We had 16 incredible years together so letting go of him was and honestly still is extremely difficult. However, back in October he was diagnosed with cancer and he put up a huge fight but, he was obviously exhausted and in pain. I am very grateful for Dr. Amy. She was so amazing and supportive, explained the process before and during, gives plenty of time to say goodbye and it truly feels like she actually cares about your pet! Overall I'm extremely glad we chose to do an At-home service bc my boy hated car rides. Instead he got to peacefully go eating a churu, in one of his favorite sleeping spots and surrounded by love.
