Originally from Davao City in the Philippines, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1999, finishing in the top 1% of her graduating class, and later completed a master's degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at Oklahoma State University as a Fulbright scholar. Before settling in California, she taught anatomy, physiology, and other sciences as an assistant professor, and after arriving in the US she served as adjunct faculty in the Veterinary Technician Program at Santa Rosa Junior College. She earned her ECFVG certification and passed the California Veterinary State Board Examination in 2010, going on to take over her father-in-law's practice after a decade of work there. Dr. Zamora's approach to end-of-life care is shaped by her own experience as a primary caregiver for her father during hospice.
