During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Although the circumstance was very difficult, Dr. Kellie was kind, professional, and compassionate. We could not have asked for a more peaceful or detail-oriented experience. Thank you, Dr. Kellie, for being there for us and our beloved Scout on this very hard day.
Dear , CodaPet I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the care, compassion, and professionalism you showed during one of the most difficult moments of my life. Saying goodbye to my pet was incredibly painful, but the way you handled everything made it as peaceful and comforting as it could possibly be. Being able to have the process take place at home meant more to me than I can fully express. My pet was in a familiar space, surrounded by love, and able to feel safe and at ease in his final moments—not in a clinical setting, but in the comfort of his own home. Your calm presence and gentle approach helped bring a sense of peace to a situation that otherwise felt overwhelming. You gave us the time, space, and respect we needed to say goodbye properly, and that is something I will always be grateful for. While this is never an experience anyone wants to go through, I can honestly say that choosing in-home euthanasia was the best decision I could have made under the circumstances. I would wholeheartedly recommend your services to anyone facing this heartbreaking situation. You truly made an unbearable moment more manageable and far more humane for both me and my beloved pet. Thank you again for your kindness and for the dignity you gave to my pet in his final moments. With sincere gratitude, Randy E. Broshar Sr.
We were crushed to have to put down our 3.5 year old cat, Franklin/Frank/Frankie/Fwank/Mr. Frankers. I made an appointment with Dr. Renee Schott very easily online via Codapet. Communication was smooth via text. She was both empathetic and professional and kept Frankie as comfortable as possible. She answered all of our questions and wasn't rushed even though it was late in the day. Highly recommended. Thank you Dr. Schott!
Dr Corrie Bates was absolutely wonderful. She was so caring, understanding, and patient. She made sure that we were ready for each step in the process.
After a visit to our vet on a Friday afternoon, we learned my beloved kitty of 18 years was dying. Wanting to take him back home to die peacefully in our home, I was able to easily book a euthanasia appt with Dr Mark Christine for Saturday morning. Mark’s warm and calming presence and care for my kitty’s comfort along with mine and my family’s comfort was more than I could have hoped for and are the whole process as bearable as possible. Later that evening, after we buried our kitty, I was facing a world of grief and had regretted not saving a piece of him/his fur. In a desperate attempt, I messaged Mark to see if he had thrown out my kitty’s fur when he shaved his arm for the IV. While he confirmed he had, days later Mark reached out to me and told me he dug through his trash and was able to find some of my kitty’s fur and had put it in a little jar. Mark dropped it off to me at my home the following weekend. I think this exemplifies the compassion and care in which Mark approaches his work, and I would highly recommend him if you’re in that terrible position of having to have your beloved animal put down.
This is a really beautiful and peaceful way to help your beloved pet move on! Our sweet Riggins licked peanut butter in his own home, surrounded by his people and went to sleep! I am grateful for the in home pet euthanasia option. Thank you, Dr. Sara!
