FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. April Le Blanc who offers in-home pet euthanasia gave me the compassion and support I needed for my decision to euthanize my beloved pet cat Julius. She gave me the support I needed for my decision and guided me thru this difficult situation. The process itself was made easier and Julius was well taken care of with a peaceful process. I would not hesitate to recommend CodaPet to anyone facing the decision to have in-home pet euthanasia.

Dr. Bean is absolutely the most kind hearted soul. I am so grateful that was able to help King Buddy for the last time. He was King Buddy’s vet for many years and always took great care of him. To have him come to our home was a blessing. King Buddy was put to rest while laying in his favorite sunbathing spot in the driveway with his human pack surrounding him. Thank you to Codapet, Dr. Bean and Brooke. King Buddy had a great life and a beautiful ending.

On May 14, 2026 Dr. Dykstra arrived at our home at 9 am sharp after a hard night and decision to let our sweet and suffering Molly (13.5 yr old Cavalier) leave this life with us. Dr. Dykstra made the decision and process very comfortable and reassuring. Molly immediately took to her and accepted her love and attention. Such a gift of God to have it end this way with a loving expert! God bless you Dr. Dykstra. Eddie and Lisa Bridgers

We, unfortunately, recently utilized this service and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the process and Dr. Amy DeWitt. She was very sweet and made us feel at ease. The privacy and comfort of being home was worth any amount of money. In reference to money, the price was very reasonable and this will be the only way I ever do this if the situation were to arise again.

Having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is very hard. CodaPet made it less difficult by coming to our house, so our poor cat with congestive heart failure could pass in comfort. Dr. Laura was kind, understanding, and supportive through the entire experience. I highly recommend this at-home service when this sad time arrives for your fur babies.

So grateful to Dr. Dennis. I have been in this position before with not a lot of helpful vet options in my time of need. This experience, although extremely painful, was so much less stressful on me and my beloved kitty. After I made the appointment for the next day, she reached out to let me know she had availability that day if I needed her. She stayed in touch with me thru the whole process and was so very kind. I wanted my baby to be outside to cross that rainbow bridge because she loved it so much and Dr. Dennis was so on board. Again ever so grateful for her and her services. She passed in my arms under this tree.
