Dr. Joey Durr was born and raised in New Orleans and has carried a lifelong love for animals into his career as a veterinarian. He earned his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University in 2013 before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University, finishing his clinical training at Kansas State University in 2017. Since then, he has been practicing in Pensacola, where he has built meaningful relationships with families and their pets through compassionate veterinary care. For Dr. Durr, being a veterinarian has always been about more than medicine—it’s about the bond between people and their pets. By providing in-home euthanasia, he helps pets pass peacefully in the comfort of home, surrounded by the people and places they love most. He considers it both an honor and a responsibility to walk alongside families during such a tender and emotional time. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Durr enjoys spending time at the gym, exploring the outdoors, and making memories with his wife and children—whether at the beach, downtown Pensacola, or around the dinner table. At home, he shares life with two loyal German Shepherds, Sam and Bane, who remind him daily of the joy and companionship pets bring into our lives.
