FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I choose to contact At Home Euthanasia on Cape Cod after reading the professional bio of Dr.Michele Sims. And, it may sound unbelievable, but within the first five minutes of Dr. Sims arrival at my home; I knew I had made the right decision. Dr. Sims did not immediately speak “medical technicalities”. She was concerned with my well-being; allowing me to rattle on about my sweet kitty. She gave hugs freely and assured me that as difficult as it was, I was making the right decision. Once we were ready to begin the euthanasia process, we slowly and quietly made my kitty as comfortable as possible. Knowing my cat as well as I do; I could see that she was not afraid or stressed out by the presence of Dr. Sims. The entire process took about 15-20 minutes, with no signs of stress at any time. Afterwards, I realized that when all was said and done, Dr. Sims had given me a real gift; i.e.; peace of mind. I can’t thank Dr. Sims enough and I recommend her services 100%.

It took me months to be able to post this without crying... but I am so grateful every day for the care and empathy Dr. Gordon offered to our sweet girl and she prepared for her crossing. She was so patient and understanding with us through our grief during the decision making processes. My Nico baby came back to us in a beautiful black walnut box, her name on the front, as well as a nose print for me to "boop" when I'm missing her too much... We are grateful that we were able to give her her last gift and mercy in the comfort of her home💜

Dr. Silvesti was sincerely compassionate and caring during this difficult time. She treated my dear girl Serena with dignity and the utmost respect. While I am devastated and grieving heavily, there is some comfort in knowing Serena's passing happened in the most peaceful way possible.
