FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

So grateful to Dr. Dennis. I have been in this position before with not a lot of helpful vet options in my time of need. This experience, although extremely painful, was so much less stressful on me and my beloved kitty. After I made the appointment for the next day, she reached out to let me know she had availability that day if I needed her. She stayed in touch with me thru the whole process and was so very kind. I wanted my baby to be outside to cross that rainbow bridge because she loved it so much and Dr. Dennis was so on board. Again ever so grateful for her and her services. She passed in my arms under this tree.

We recently had to say goodbye to our 17 year old very loved cat due to kidney disease. We wanted him to be able to have a peaceful departure in his comfortable, familiar home, and decided to pursue an at-home euthanasia. We set up a date and time with Dr. Lori Thomas of Coda Pet for later in the week so that we could spend some quality time and say our goodbyes. Unfortunately the disease progressed more quickly than we anticipated. When we contacted Dr. Thomas, she worked with us, and arranged to come that same day. Her calm, professional demeanor and compassionate care helped us through a very tough day., and our beloved cat was peacefully sent to sleep with the angels. I highly recommend Coda Pet's at home euthanasia program and Dr. Lori Thomas. They are both such a blessing.

Dr. Lori Thomas was a godsend. We had to make the gut-wrenching decision to say goodbye to our 15-year-old Zöegirl, and we are so grateful that Dr. Thomas was there to guide us through it. The experience was cozy, peaceful, and filled with so much empathy and love. She texted ahead of time to see if we had any questions or wanted to talk before the visit, and on the day of, she let us know when she was on her way. When she arrived, she greeted us like family. She took her time getting to know Zöe and made us feel comfortable with the hardest choice we’ve ever had to make. It was especially difficult because Zöe had sundowners, and during the day she could still seem so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. But she had walked into the pool several times, was running into walls, losing her balance, and losing her way. As hard as it was, we knew it was best not to wait for a middle-of-the-night emergency or have to say goodbye in a stressful vet room instead of in the comfort of her own home. Dr. Thomas explained every step of the process and made sure we were ready and comfortable. She handled our girl with such care and love, even driving her off as her “copilot” in a basket in the passenger seat. We truly could not have been blessed with a better end-of-life experience or a more compassionate doctor. We are forever grateful.

Dr Laura was very kind and compassionate as we said goodbye to our beloved German Shepherd Sasha. Easy to book and she explained the entire process. Sasha went to sleep peacefully in her own bed at home.

After having to go through this experience twice before, we opted for in-home euthanasia. Dr. Rona was considerate, compassionate, and very professional. She showed up early, answered all our questions, and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye. She made the experience easier and left us knowing we made the right choice. Highly recommend Dr. Rona.

Dr. Divine was just incredible. So much compassion was given to my children and me as we said our goodbye to sweet Hobo Kitty. Being at home was peaceful for both our pet and us. We didn’t have to keep our emotions in check as we were safe within the walls of our home. Hobo was happy to be where he spent most of his senior life. Curled up on a soft blanket on the couch.
