FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

I can not recommend Dr. Harper and this service enough. Being able to say goodbye to my anxious dog at home made such a huge difference for us. In such a difficult time, she was so kind and empathetic. I can't thank you enough.

Words can't begin to convey how grateful that I am for the sincere care and concern Dr. Perzak provided to me and my wife as we made the incredibly difficult decision to assist our beloved, Remington (Remi), pass from this life to the next. She was extremely patient in explaining the entire process and could not have provided any better support and service to us in our most difficult time. The "gift" she provides with this in-home service allows the animal (and their caregivers) the comfort and dignity of having this transition happen in a comfortable surrounding. This made all the difference for us. There are angels on this earth and I am convinced that Dr. Perzak is one of them. I will never forget the compassion she showed to Remi...and to us. May God bless her and all those that are dealing with this difficult process and may we all be comforted in this time of loss.

We had a 12.5 year old Great Dane that had been struggling for a while with her back legs and hips. We knew we didn’t want to wait until she couldn’t get up at all so we had Dr. Marisel come assess her and let us know her honest opinion. We knew in our hearts it was time but just wanted to make sure since she was still alert and Dr Marisel was so kind and gave us all the information/ education we needed to make the best decision for our girl. Dr Marisel was never pushy and overall very professional and sympathetic of the decision we were having to make. If I have the means and the time I will always choose in home euthanasia knowing my pets can be in the comfort of their own home and in a familiar place when I put them at peace.

Dr. Diana Gersten was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and caring during the entire process. I had no idea CodaPet existed and I am so thankful I found them. The afterlife services they provided were exceptional and I was able to bring my best friend back home to his final resting place.

To those who are about to experience the loss of a beloved pet, At first, I didn’t really know how the in-home pet euthanasia process worked, nor was I really aware it was an option before I found the idea from a co-worker and found CodaPet. I was filled with anxiety, not only about my own worries of whether or not it was a real service, but also because the reality of making the decision to let go of my pet just felt all too “raw”. After making the decision and finally giving them the call, I was welcomed by a truly empathetic and kind spirited phone representative, who made the set up process convenient, affordable, and easy to work through. They scheduled our service with the closest and best available Doctor in my area, making the process as stress free as possible. When the day finally came and Dr. Sheryl Hemmer arrived at our home, although we felt the pain in our hearts for the impending loss of our loved one, her presence was as if we were greeting an old friend that you haven’t seen in a long time. Dr. Hemmer was welcoming, loving, professional, powerfully empathetic, and made the process of helping our pet move on to the next life as painless and comfortable as it could possibly be. Words cannot describe my gratitude for the exceptional service we were provided. It made the burden of losing our animal just a bit easier to bear, and will be my only method of euthanasia for every pet I own. Thank you Dr. Hemmer, and thank you CodaPet for providing a truly invaluable service.
