FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Dawn was absolutely incredible. She was so understanding of our situation and gave our sweet dog the best care. We couldn’t have asked for a better vet to have helped us through this difficult time.

Codapet helped our beloved pet move on. They sent a wonderful vet - Dr. Krueger - who was very kind and explained the process and helped us. It’s a hard thing to do but I was very grateful for her support and for the service. Now our sweet girl is not suffering - she was terrified of the vet and so she got to be at peace at the end.

I scheduled an appointment with Codapet for Dr. Jessica Mumm to come and euthanize my cat, Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina had terminal cancer and had taken a turn for the worse on May 11th, when tumor started to bleed. Dr. Mumm was able to come the same day. She was very compassionate and told me in detail what she would be doing and how the procedure would work. She asked about Wilhelmina and I felt she had a good understanding and sympathy for my cat. During the procedure Dr. Mumm made a point to give me as much time to say goodbye to Wilhelmina as I wanted. Dr. Mumm was very gentle with Wilhelmina and displayed great warmth to her. Wilhelmina, who has always been very frightened of strangers, remained calm with Dr. Mumm, which made the experience much easier for both Wilhelmina and myself. During the actual procedure, Dr. Mumm handled Wilhelmina as gently as she would have handled her own cat. The euthanasia procedure was gentle and peaceful. I was so glad that Wilhelmina got to pass from this life so easily. Knowing that was the case has made the my grieving process easier. I am so glad that Dr. Mumm was able to give my Wilhelmina a good death. I would recommend Dr. Mumm for her warmth and expertise to anyone who wants to give their pet a respectful and gentle passing.

I'm blown away by the difference between bringing my pets in for vet office or emergency vet for euthanasia. Dr. Melissa Magnotta couldn't have been kinder, gentler or more professional. As terribly sad as we were, my cat and my family had an easy, peaceful experience in our own home where sweet cat Arya was not scared. She was willing to answer any questions and explained the process and made sure my family and fur family were comfortable at all times. I will never do this any other way and absolutely want and trust Melissa to come back when and if the time happens with another pet! Thank you CodaPet and especially Dr.Melissa Magnotta you made a a terrible thing actually bearable.
