During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

In home pet euthanasia was the right choice to quietly say goodbye to our Suzy. Dr. Duncan was an incredibly calm loving presence for Suzy and me. Such a difficult decision to make when you want more time but your beloved is suffering. This wonderful vet made the process the best it could be. Which has helped in the days following during the mind games of early grieving.
I wanted to do an in home pet euthanasia after thinking about it everyday for 3 months while I saw my girl Sundae decline. I was nervous and scared that the experience would be traumatic but it was anything but that. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for both myself and Sundae. Dr. April Le Blanc was extremely kind and gentle which made me feel at ease and she re-assured me that I was making the right decision. The procedure was very straight forward, all steps explained clearly, and most accommodating to my dog. She fell asleep and peacefully in my arms and never woke up. Please consider CodaPet for your fur baby as it is truly the best option you can give them to cross the rainbow.
Although the decision to help our dear Otis pass peacefully was an incredibly difficult one, Dr. Stern and Coda Pet took every effort to respect our decision and make us feel confident it was the right course of action. Dr. Stern didn’t rush us in any way, she took time to learn about Otis and had a truly loving way about her. Being able to stay at home reduced our anxiety and kept Otis from being frightened in a veterinary clinic for his last moments.
Our caregiver accomplished the impossible. Making a deeply sad moment into a comfortable celebration of life. I would recommend for anyone letting their babies find heir resting place.
This was one of the hardest things we have had to experience in our lives with our dogs. Dr. Kelsey Jones was very kind, generous, and patient. Our boy took to her and she listened to some stories and got to know him. During the time she spent helping us get through this, her genuineness and compassion was evident and a big blessing. If you are having to make this decision for your pet family please consider this option. I believe that in our situation it was a way that allowed more ease for him and more peace for us. Thank you again Dr. Kelsey Jones for all your consideration and kindness.
Saying good-bye to my beloved cat and having to have him put to sleep was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Margaret was so kind and compassionate. Having her come to my home was truly a blessing. If anyone is ever in this situation, I highly recommend Codapet.
