Verified Veterinarian
Like many vets, I first decided I wanted to be a veterinarian as a young child. I have been fascinated by living creatures for as long as I can remember and always had a menagerie of pets while growing up. Once in practice I found that, for me, the most fulfilling aspect of being a veterinarian is the ability to provide relief from pain and discomfort for my patients. Sadly, there comes a time where relief can only be provided through the selfless decision to euthanize. While making that choice is one of the most heart-wrenching experiences a pet parent can face, it is also the most loving action one can take. It is always a privilege for me to be allowed to assist a pet through this transition and to support the people they leave behind. When my own cat became suddenly and severely ill, I experienced in-home euthanasia from the other side. In my deep grief it was a comfort to know that my friend had passed peacefully in the place she loved best. My goal is to bring that same comfort to my patients and their families.
