Verified Veterinarian
I became a veterinarian with a specific mission in mind: to ensure that every animal receives the gift of a peaceful, pain-free passing. While veterinary clinics are places of healing, the clinical environment can often be a source of stress and anxiety for a pet in their final moments. I believe that every pet deserves to spend their last breath in the place they love most, surrounded by familiar scents and the people who cherish them. By bringing end-of-life care into the home, I aim to honor the dignity of each individual and transform a difficult goodbye into a gentle, private, and sacred transition.

Saying goodbye to our beloved cat Robert was the hardest thing we've had to do. Dr. Renee's in-home experience was the only way we could imagine doing it. Dr. Renee Schott was kind, gentle and understanding throughout the whole process. It turned something that would have been very stressful for us and our cat at the vet into as easy of an experience as it could possibly be. We're still crying for our little buddy a few weeks later, but we know with 100% certainty that we made the right decision having Dr. Renee help us out.
Renee was very communicative and reached out the morning of to let me know that the roads were bad and she would be possibly late as a result. She handled my sweet, loving boy with compassion and dignity. I’m crying even as I type this. What I appreciated as much as her care in his final moments was the card she sent me. She remembered specific things I told her about him. THAT meant a lot. He wasn’t just another pet she was euthanizing. It was my 16 year old chatty kitty who loved playing fetch at 3am and his special blankies. Thank you for caring for the piece of my soul I lost that day. I’ll never forget your kindness in that moment. Unfortunately, it’s not something that comes by often anymore. Love, compassion, kindness. I’m grateful to her for that.
She was very considerate and kind, and went at the pace of us. She asked about or pet and had us tell stores. The whole process was peaceful and gentle for our kitty who had cancer and was afraid of vets.
Dr. Renee was fabulous to work with in this terrible situation. Very kind-hearted, very good communication about arrival time, the process with our dog and gave us all the time we needed with him. Would definitely recommend Dr. Renee and Codapet!
She was very compassionate and understanding of our feelings at such a difficult time, she took the time to ask about Baylor and what he was like. We felt like we had made the right decision to do this at home and she handled everything very professionally.
We had Dr. Renee Schott come out when our cat was very sick and we knew she wasn't going to make it. Dr. Schott was very gentle with her and explained everything that was happening and that was going to happen. It was a very personal process compared to bringing your pet in and I would use this service and Dr. Schott again if I had to.
