Verified Veterinarian
Being a veterinarian is something I’ve always wanted to do and there’s never really been a plan B for me that did not involve veterinary medicine. I started working at a vet clinic when I was 14 and that experience really solidified my decision to pursue a career as a vet. I loved the fact that the vet I worked for gave a voice to those that could not speak for them selves. I loved talking to the people and learning about their relationship with their pet. Moreso, I loved seeing what a difference you can make in someone’s life by healing and/or saving their pet, which they consider a family member. That experience along with various others since then helped me be secure in my decision to become a DVM. As far as reason behind wanting to provide in-home euthanasias, I think the human-animal bond is a very unique and precious bond - we view our pets as our family and we want them to be happy always, especially in those last moments. I think being able to provide this service which allows pets to be in the comfort of their home and allowing any and all family members to be there or at least say goodbye at their own pace, is an extremely rewarding service to be able to provide.

Could not have asked for a better service under the circumstances. Dr. Batey really showed compassion and patience for myself and my doggo!
In one of the hardest moments of our lives Dr Batey brought us so much comfort. I could tell she genuinely cares about animals and was so patient and kind. I really can’t say enough to express my gratitude. We never felt rushed or as if this was just a business transaction. It was the best outcome we could have hoped for at such a sad time.
Dr. Batey came to us twice, once for a quality of life assessment. She adjusted the medications to a palliative approach and we were able to spend 3 more good months with our sweet girl. Maura was just a different creature at the vet than she was at home, and Dr. Batey was able to see a different side of her. Today Dr. Batey came again, and helped us let her go with patience, authenticity, kindness and understanding. She explained everything to us and allowed us to say goodbye in the most peaceful way possible. After 17 years of devotion, it was the best choice for us.
Dr. Batey was wonderful. She told us what to expect and asked whether we had questions. Her personal touch was exactly what we needed during this difficult experience.
Meagan made one of the worst evenings in our life peaceful. Her kindness and professionalism was appreciated. She completely relieved the pressure of that trip to the vet. Thank you Meagan.
Dr. Bates was wonderful to us and our dog during her final moments. She was extremely professional, very communicative about the process, and incredibly kind. I felt my pup was in great hands and she was completely comfortable when she passed. She gave us space to grieve and was additionally super sweet to our other animals.
