Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

Our pets provide us so much joy and happiness, that we can't ever truly be ready to say goodbye. After participating in euthanasia's in a clinic setting for 15 years, I'm relieved to be able to provide a more relaxing, peaceful, and personal alternative to pets and their families.

What pet parents are saying

Dr. Kristina Pugh helped us say goodbye to our beloved cat, Rodney, with so much compassion and grace. She enabled us to have beautiful last moments together, making sure he was comfortable and surrounded by love. She gave us as much time as we needed, answered all of our questions, and explained what to expect before anything happened, which made the process gentler and less overwhelming. After days of watching him struggle in pain, it was such a relief to see him at peace. Dr. Pugh went out of her way to call the cemetery ahead of our arrival to make a special request on our behalf. We didn't know she had done that until we showed up there. It was a beautiful surprise. She was so professional, kind, and gentle, guiding our cat smoothly to the other side. I will be forever grateful that she gave him such a peaceful and dignified passing, and gave us the comfort of knowing he left this world loved and at ease.

Charlie loved everyone she ever met, she thought she was an 80 lb lap dog at times, and loved long walks around the neighborhood. She loved her Charlie time with her Poppa and will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Dr. Kristina Pugh was exactly what we needed her to be in what was one of our darkest hours. She was gentle, didnt try to distract us with small talk, explained everything calmly and fully. She was so assured and calm that it made us feel all that much better. She had the strength we needed to pull through for our daughter. We had two other dogs with us and they were able to be there for their sisters passing. Dr. Kristina was able to explain all the signs to watch out for and what could be expected from our other dogs not just through the process but over the next few weeks as we grieve. Some of it I expected and other things I learned for the first time and was glad that someone had told me so i could better care for my surviving sons. Having the other dogs with her and ti smell her at the end, that was the most important thing to us. The second most important thing was to not give our dog extra stress. Her final moments were pain free for the first time in months, being held by her family in her own bed and with her brothers by her side. That to me is priceless and why we chose Codapet, and they are lucky to have Dr. Kristina work with them.

Dr. Pugh was fantastic. She was incredibly compassionate, gentle, and patient throughout one of the hardest moments of my life. I’m so grateful that CodaPet connected us. There’s no other vet I could have asked for to guide my fur baby and me through his final moments. She explained every step clearly, gave me as much time as I needed, and created a calm, peaceful environment in my home. My cat passed comfortably in my arms, surrounded by the family that loved him for 13 years. That meant everything to me, and she even checked on me afterward to see how I was doing. I highly recommend Dr. Pugh.

On the morning of Duncan's unplanned final journey, I was a mess. Dr. K connected with me in her gentle, caring way and was able to guide our family through the grief and loss. She took her time and for that moment in time bonded with us. She lent us her strength to carrying on. Thank you for caring.

Letting go of our sweet pup was devastating, but we could not have asked for a more compassionate soul to guide us through it. Dr. Kristina Pugh treated our beloved Hudson with such tenderness and respect, speaking softly, moving gently, and honoring the love we shared. In our grief, we felt supported rather than alone. That is a gift we will never forget. Thank you for helping our dog pass peacefully and for showing us what true empathy looks like. Your kindness in our hardest moment will always stay with us.
