Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

I decided that becoming a vet was my calling at a very young age after I became obsessed with horses, cats, and dogs. I determined early on that becoming a vet would be the best way to spend my days with animals. As a veterinarian, I have had the opportunity to euthanize my own animals at home and felt like that was the best gift I could give them. Knowing how much it meant to my own pets helped me to realize the importance of giving pets a peaceful passing at home.

Dr. Hart was great, very kind and compassionate. She made Curly's departure as painless and as peaceful as possible, for him and for me.

Unfortunately we had to use this service twice in a short amount of time. Dr. Katharyn Hart was our first caregiver for our boy, Wrango and Dr. Lori Thomas was our caregiver for our old gal, Shyloh. They both showed an amazing amount of compassion with our pups, were patient with us as we went through the experience and were so thoughtful in answering any questions we had. They both made the experience very peaceful for all involved and though we were/are heartbroken, knowing that our pups were in the hands of these 2 vets, made it a bit better.

While calling for this service is always hard, I deeply appreciate the opportunity it gives to us pet parents to be able to say goodbye in a place where our pets are comfortable and calm. Dr. Hart is an amazing person. She was so calm and had a soothing energy about her. She truly made the whole experience as good as it can possibly be. Thank you Dr. Hart.❤️

We wanted to thank Dr. Hart for responding so promptly and for providing comforting service to our precious Milo. We also appreciate the tender care given in our home and for the safe transportation service following. It's a difficult decision, but the assurance and understanding cannot be overlooked.

We were so sad to say goodbye to our dog Winnie, but Dr. Hart made the experience so loving and warm in our home. It’s truly a gift to allow your pet to say goodbye in the comfort of their home and with their people. Dr. Hart sat with us on the floor, comforted our dog with us, and just held an open warm space for us to say goodbye. We feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to do this at home and with Dr. Hart’s support.
