Verified Veterinarian
One of my earliest memories is of saying goodbye to my mom’s dog, Amy, when I was 4 years old. The veterinarian who helped us through that experience was so kind, compassionate, and methodical—I never forgot it. That moment inspired me to become a vet, and it continues to shape my passion for supporting pets and their families during end-of-life care. Before starting this work, I spent years in emergency veterinary care, helping families through some of their hardest moments. This experience helps me bring both clinical expertise and heartfelt understanding to families facing the most difficult goodbye. After recently saying goodbye to my own beloved dog, Jackie, I truly came to understand how important it is to be able to say goodbye at home—in a space filled with comfort, love, and familiarity. That experience shaped my approach and deepened my commitment to helping others navigate this difficult time with compassion, respect, and peace.

Jill was amazing- she was very communicative and accommodating when we requested an earlier time for our home euthanasia for our pup. I let her know my 4 year old would be there and she was careful and gentle in how she spoke to him. She made an awful process so much more comfortable; I will recommend her again and again!
Dr. Thomason is very kind and professional. She has excellent skills with pets and a warm demeanor with humans. This was a difficult situation and decision for our family; however, it was the right decision and I definitely recommend Dr. Thomason.
Despite how heartbreaking and difficult the decision was, we knew that it was time. Turbo, our 17.5 year old corgi pitbull mix, was ready. CodaPet was recommended to us as a peaceful way to euthanize your pet from the comfort of their home. Turbo provided 15 years of love and joy. We wanted to do everything in our power to make his last moments as comfortable as possible. Friday afternoon, we sent out an urgent appointment request. Thankfully, Dr. Jill Thomason was available the following day. Once Dr. Jill confirmed her availability with me, I received an email with CodaPet with a link to confirm appointment, services, aftercare and payment. CodaPet walks you through the process and tries to make it as simple and respectful as possible. The day of, Dr. Jill sent a text notifying us if her time of arrival. And, to minimize disturbance to Turbo, she would text when she arrived in lieu of ringing the doorbell or knocking. She was wonderful to us and especially Turbo. While talking us through the process, she sat next to Turbo and proceeded to give him plenty of treats. I think Dr Jill was quickly becoming his favorite person. Dr. Jill was so very calm and respectful. She guided us and provided us so much support through such a very difficult time. When taking care of Turbo's body, she gave us time we needed to say our goodbyes and she was so very gentle with his body. I have nothing but great things to say about CodaPet. The service connected us with the wonderful Dr. Jill Thomason who helped Turbo pass peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dr Jill came at a moments notice to help our 15 year old Cali transition peacefully. Dr Jill was very caring and sensitive while remaining compasionate and professional . I would highly recommend Dr Jill for this at home option.
Dr. Thomason was timely and responsive on short notice. She explained what to expect, was patient and compassionate and was great with follow up. Could not have asked more under a very difficult decision. Thank you.
Dr. Jill was very compassionate, patient, and caring. It was my family's first pet passing and she was very responsive and detailed when I asked her for advice and going through the whole process. Thank you so much, couldn't have asked for a better service during a rough time saying goodbye to our dog and not having any prior experience.
