Dr. Derecka Alexander went “the extra mile” to make the “at home pet euthanasia” of our 14 year old retriever mix Lilly as comforting as possible for our family. She arrived very prepared with all of her equipment and immediately, gracefully and professionally took charge of a very emotional situation. She could see that Lilly was stressed and was able to calm her before she began the procedure. She created a peaceful setting with the soothing music and answered in detail all of our questions. Dr. Dereka explained the process in detail. She made sure vickey was comfortable in every way. She made sure I was comfortable. She went above and beyond in helping me with the ongoing grieving process.
The hallmark channel could not have casted a better character to come to our home and perform this service. This type of procedure requires a very special skillset of compassionate care and we are glad Dr. Alexander shared that with us, she truly has a gift.
She was very compassionate and thoughtful… with a great deal of respect and care for our pet. My daughter was engaged in the procedure and the doctor explained each step with patience and sympathy. Strongly recommend her for anyone wanting in home care.
It has been very difficult and sad since my soul dog passed but I have comfort in knowing that with Dr. Alexander’s help my dog transitioned in peace, with dignity, and without fear. Dr. Alexander was compassionate, understanding, and respectful throughout the appointment and created safe space for my beloved dog to pass in comfort. Dr. Alexander treated my dog with gentleness, kindness, and care. The decision with my dog’s passing was difficult to make but I feel that doing it in my home where my dog felt at ease was the best decision for my dog and my family.
Dr. Alexander helped make a very sad occasion as smooth as could be. She was very compassionate and helpful through a very emotional process.
