Verified Veterinarian
Growing up on a farm, I always loved animals, but I had never really considered a career as a veterinarian until my first year of college, when my childhood dog and best friend, Abbey, unexpectedly became sick and needed to be humanely euthanized. Believe it or not, it was this experience, as heartbreaking and impossibly difficult as it was, that opened my eyes to the possibility of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, as it showed me how much of an impact I could have on the lives of both animals and their people. I have always considered humane euthanasia to be one of the most important aspects of my job as a veterinarian, but it was not until we said goodbye to our beloved cat, Lou, that I learned how peaceful the process can really be when done at home. I believe it is truly a gift to be able to end the suffering of the pets that we love, and it has always been my hope that I can somehow make one of the hardest days of people's lives just a little bit better.
