About

Dr. Philip Haros is a compassionate veterinarian who is dedicated to providing pet owners with support during one of the most challenging moments in their journey with their beloved companions. Born and raised in Hampton Roads, Dr. Haros recently returned to the area in 2022 to practice full-time at Kempsville Veterinary Hospital. His journey in veterinary medicine led him to pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne, and he has gained valuable veterinary training experiences in Canada, Australia, and the United States. Dr. Haros firmly believes that this diverse background enhances his ability to deliver exceptional veterinary care and build lasting client-doctor relationships. During this difficult time, you can trust Dr. Haros to facilitate a peaceful passing for your cherished companion. Dr. Haros initially entered the field of veterinary medicine driven by a passion for wildlife conservation. However, he eventually found his calling in small animal care, particularly in caring for cats and dogs. He takes immense pride in his ability to assist pet owners in transitioning their pets to the afterlife with compassion and sensitivity, making the process as smooth and comforting as possible. Outside of his veterinary practice, Dr. Haros enjoys a variety of activities that reflect his love for nature and relaxation. He finds solace in gardening, kayaking, and swimming, and he has a knack for writing. But perhaps his favorite pastime is spending quality time cuddling with his own furry companion, Ovi, a 5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog. Despite his hefty 125-pound frame, Ovi is a bundle of affection, constantly seeking snuggles and providing warmth and companionship to Dr. Haros and his family. Dr. Philip Haros is committed to supporting you and your pet with care, empathy, and expertise during the challenging and emotional journey of saying goodbye to a beloved animal companion.
