Dr. Megan Lowman, a dedicated veterinarian, hails from Poolesville, MD, where she spent her childhood riding horses and nurturing her love for animals. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2019. Following a fulfilling stint in equine practice, Dr. Lowman embarked on a new chapter in her career, offering personalized in-home euthanasia services to pets in the area. From a young age, Dr. Lowman knew that her calling lay in veterinary medicine, and she pursued this passion with unwavering determination. Despite initially specializing in equine practice and completing a residency in equine surgery, the birth of her daughter in November 2022 prompted a shift in her career path. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Dr. Lowman transitioned to providing in-home euthanasia, allowing her to prioritize her family while continuing to serve the needs of pets and their owners in the community. Beyond her veterinary practice, Dr. Lowman is a creative soul with a penchant for crafting. Whether knitting, sewing, crocheting, or indulging in needlework, she finds joy in expressing her artistic side. Additionally, she enjoys cooking, baking bread, and nurturing her passion for houseplants. Dr. Lowman shares her home with two beloved dogs, Ray and Tig, who have been cherished companions since her undergraduate years.
