Initial Contact
Your vet will reach out to you prior to your appointment to answer any questions you may have and address any special circumstances or concerns.
At-Home Assessment
Your vet will make an assessment of your pet’s health and quality of life to provide guidance to ensure your decision is informed.
Pre-Medication
The veterinarian will administer an initial sedative or anesthetic to help your pet relax and become pain-free, ensuring they are comfortable and at ease.
Euthanasia
The veterinarian will first ensure your pet is fully sedated before gently administering anesthesia which will quickly slow down your pet’s respiratory system until the heart finally stops beating. In most cases, this process takes less than a minute.
Travel Fee
This reflects the cost associated with the distance a licensed vet will need to travel should your location fall outside their regular service area.
Platform Fee
A small percentage of the total supports vets with non-medical items, allowing them to spend more time caring for pets.

Travel Fee
Each licensed veterinarian determines the travel fee and service area unique to their community.
Pet Weight
The size of your pet determines the amount of medication needed to provide a peaceful passing as well the cremation services, if you select any.
Large Pets (over 24 lbs)
Each licensed veterinarian determines their pricing and weight limits. Large pet fees may apply.
Cremation and Keepsakes
The cost will vary based on your choice of cremation services with or without your pet's ashes returned. A variety of keepsakes are available depending on your cremation selection and vet.

Questions you may have
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any applicable travel fees, and a platform fee. Depending on your preferences, additional fees may apply for cremation services or memorial keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will carefully confirm your preferred aftercare option with you. If you choose cremation, your vet will manage your pet’s gentle transportation to a local crematorium. If your selected cremation service includes receiving your pet’s ashes, your vet will clearly explain the process for returning your pet's ashes and provide an estimated timeline for their return.
You have the option to have your vet respectfully transport your pet to the crematorium. Depending on your preference, your pet’s ashes can either be lovingly returned to you or respectfully spread with other pets.
Note: If you choose to have your pet’s ashes returned to you, your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes at the time of your appointment.
We allow cancellations at no fee to you for appointments canceled more than 4 hours before your start time. If you cancel your appointment less than 4 hours before your appointment time you will be subject to a cancellation fee of $100.
Your vet reserves time in their schedule exclusively for you, so we ask you to cancel as soon as you are able so that your vet may help another family in need.

If your pet passes naturally before your scheduled euthanasia appointment, you may cancel at any time prior to your vet's arrival without incurring any fees. If you'd still like assistance arranging transportation for cremation, you can request your vet provide a deceased pet pick-up and cremation services.

Yes, your vet will offer a variety of meaningful memorabilia you can purchase if you choose to request the return of your pet's ashes. After selecting your vet and preferred cremation option, you'll have the opportunity to review and choose from available keepsake options. You may also find comfort in exploring our suggestions for pet memorial ideas.
Note: You may also choose to add the memorabilia or change your mind about your choice at the time of your appointment.
In the case of wanting a private burial, if your city/county regulations allow, you can choose to bury your pet. Please check local regulations to see if this is legal in your area.
If you want to bury your pet in a cemetery, you will need to choose and make arrangements with a local pet cemetery before the euthanasia appointment. Please be sure to let your CodaPet vet know if you have planned for such a burial.

If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of a friend or family member. When your vet contacts you prior to your appointment, talk to them about options and limitations, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pet's return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.

Dr. Brielle was hands down the most compassionate Vet my husband and I have ever come across. She evaluated the situation and helped us in making the right decision for Ben. I cannot recommend Dr. Treece enough, she was so kind and had a calming presence. Every step was explained thoroughly and taken at our own pace. It is an extremely difficult decision to put your dog to sleep, but Dr. Treece and her assistant made the hard time much easier and were very respectful of my pup all the way to the end.
Dr. Gibson’s quiet empathy was the one bright part of saying goodbye to our beloved family member, Kenny. Her clear and gentle explanations through each step of the process helped us to walk through the process of saying goodbye. We are beyond grateful for her help and kindness throughout out this journey. She also went above and beyond to ensure that Kenny’s ashes were returned to us. My Girl Chloe was a cherished family member. Unfortunately, her health had declined and we had to make a life ending decision that was very upsetting for everyone. We could not bear to take her anywhere to have the euthanasia done. We thought it was important to have this done at home where she is most comfortable. The in-home pet euthanasia was done by Dr. Karen Duncan. We had not met Karen, but when she came, she immediately put us at ease. She took her time with Chloe, and was very compassionate and understanding. She was here with us for at least an hour and explained the process in detail allowing time for us to absorb the procedure as needed. She then wrapped Chloe up in a warm blanket and transported her with TLC. I cannot say enough about Karen and the process that was done at our house. It gave us complete privacy, a special time to spend with Chloe and the opportunity to send her off in a very quiet, compassionate, and cherished way. Karen is obviously a special person to provide a service for those families having separation anxiety from their cherished pets. We appreciate all that was done to help us send Chloe off in a quiet and dignified way. We would highly recommend this, if you want that special time helping that cherished family member cross the Rainbow Bridge!
